Who would prefer a 1st person view?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 8:44 am

Like a Skyrim MMO.

Why do all these MMOs have to be in 3rd person, with all these buttons on the screen and health bars and everything.

Why cant it just be like skyrim, but with other players.

Out of combat, you can change your spells and do whatever, but in combat you cant (cant pause because its MMO). That would be fantastic.

Anyway I'm still gonna play this game.

Because they are making the game for the more mmo fans and people used to it. They arent going to cater to the singleplayer rpg fanatics, they are going to make it more for the MMO crowd. They are making a mmo for mmo gamers, if they made it different it would be harder for mmo players to adapt to it and outcry that it is catered for the SRPG fans, which would be bad

I've played TES in 3rd person since Morrowind. This is just right for me.

Well then you guys probably wont like mmo's, so if you want that, pop in Skyrim/oblivion/morrowind and have a blast ..or wait for TES:6

I'd prefer TES single player. But if they did make a multiplayer game how about

-Level like you do in TES, no cap
-First person real time combat like TES single player
-Actually have lore that makes sense

I'm not impressed

Generic MMO formula dictated that big name MMOs have to be in third-person and be generic and crap like that.

Generic MMO players dictate that the only successful MMOs are the ones that follow the generic MMO formula.

Devs/publishers must cater to generic MMO players if they want money, so they have to go the generic MMO formula route.

What a lovely cycle in this lovely industry that has incrementally become devoid of innovation...

even if first person worked it would be a huge disadvantage, and the combat is point and faceroll the numbers on the keyboard so it doesn't matter anyways.

1st person would have been better imo, the game would have had more TES character and less resemblance to the genre. Most of the buyers will be TES players anyway.

Because WOW did it first at that style...No one is brave and open-minded enough to make an innovative style with everything different. I was expecting such a surprise from Zenimax and Bethesda but appearently I overrated them
