That's on a console.

Unfortunately, it's not a game. It's just a tech demo for the PS3. That's real-time processing going on there.

You could have the deepest, most mind-blowing premise ever seen in a video game, but ultimately what really matters is what will this bring to the table gameplay-wise. Considering their last game was essentially an FMV game straight out of the 90's, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Well, yeah, slapping lipstick on a pig... The merit of their games aside, if this becomes a licensable technology, we could be seeing some amazing things on the PS3. Imagine something like Silent Hill with this fidelity, for instance.

I thought I was watching I.Robot, switched it off after 2 minutes, quite dull. The graphics were good, but they don't seem a world away from some of the stuff already out there.

The animations were well done, and the textures were good but didn't look particular high resolution. I'm not sure why it's so amazing that it's running on a console. Maybe it's been too long since I played on one, and I don't realize how much they svck.

Eh.. a little too uncanny without sub-surface scattering. Tbh doesn't look much better than the scene in Crysis 2 where the CryNet soldiers try to take off your characters Nanosuit.

Link to scene I'm comparing to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4QHdfzfHt0

That's what I'm thinking too, the character looks great but a little "off." Still, impressive video. I just hope this studio will release their games on pc in the future.

i wish gameplay mechanics got that this kind of attention. maybe then games would not be becoming ever more like a virtual tour of an art gallery than an actual game you interact with.

Final Fantasy XIII is the only game I can think of that looks as good.

Come, now. That video doesn't look nearly as good.

I did laugh at the machine, though. The one in the tech demo looks almost identical.

If a robot is female, sixual exploitation is always a motif. Nowadays, anyway. I still remember when sci-fi was serious... :sadvaultboy: Hahah.

You know once we start building androids that's going to be their prime directive. They're just being realistic.

Dune? Even the Jetsons had more nuance than present-day sci-fi.

Far Cry 2 looks better.

:meh:

Seriously, are people watching this in HD? It's meant to be watched in HD. Far Cry 2 does not look better.

Dude, it's pretty graphics. It's been done before. Soon, this'll be outdated.

It already is. Quantic Dream did that on a year-old version of their technology. Still looks amazing though. And the people who say that Far Cry 2 looks better, are you sure you didn't mean Far Cry 3?

I wouldn't say amazing. Looks good, like anything else, though a little plastic-like.
