This is my level headed opinion. Anyone that likes the legion automatically tells me to die in hell when they see my points on why NCR is the best and then hey rage. NCR is very large and stable. No matter how many legion patrols face a two NCR trooper squad they always pull through. Plus they have the awesome rangers! Also Colonel Hsu will eventually replace that idiot Oliver

No he won't. Want to know why? The NCR is beset with jingoism and cronyism. They have a richboy whose senatorially connected daddy got him the head manager post at Crimson Caravan's New Vegas branch and he has mismanaged it so badly that iron-woman president of the company herself had to come down there to clean things up. They have a cattle baron who apparently can get away with intimidating people out of their land because he knows the right people. They have a well-spoken diplomat sidelined and marginalized solely because he wants to be a cool customer and not be a meddlesome busybody. They have a scientist who is more a politician who claims the works of his underlings as his own, who has no regard at all for the pitfalls of reckless science. They have a thoroughly incompetent general whose more interested in taking a perceived theft of glory away from a far more competent strategist instead of effectively fighting the war, put into his position solely because he's buddies with the Jingo In Chief, President Kimball.

Wake up and smell the cronyism, dude.

The only way Hsu could replace Oliver is if Oliver dies defending the dam and Hsu survives to retreat, and Kimball survives to get blamed for the colossal disaster he allowed the NCR to become.

In a way, the Indy ending is the best for the NCR. It gives them a sorely needed bloody nose to hopefully give them a wakeup call.

I've started a thread on a simerler topic. "Endings are uneven"

I want to suppourt the side that will do the most good for the poeople of the wasts, the most moraly right one and by far that is the NCR.
If you look at thier ending, it's full of peace, democracy and benifits for all.

I think it's uneven in terms of goodness, I was looking forward to the yes-man ending and founding a new nation but I was put off when I saw that each faction/tribe has one really good ending and they are all with the NCR. Once you compare them there is no question that NCR is the best.

They have problems and people have problems with them, that's made clear in the couse of the game. But those fults don't come up in the ending for some reason.

Why does'nt it say somthing like...

"areadly streached to breaking point, the NCR struggled to bring order to the wastes for years to come."

I think the next expansion should have more ending options for all partys.

You do know that's the original latin pronunciation, right? It's laid out as such in-game; those in the know pronounce it kay-sar, those who don't or just want to grief Caesar pronounce it see-ser.

In latin it "is" pronounced as kai-sar.
Modern language is what's got it wrong, not the game.

To be fair to the Brotherhood, the overarching ideal is just. . . to make sure man doesn't hurt himself again.

It's just their implementation of the idea that's way jacked up. They're the age-old conundrum of a monster hunter. They've become the very thing they set out to destroy.

The brotherhood would probably ransack the lucky 38 by night, kill house, and leave.House is looking after himself with that decision. People take destroying a well meaning group cold heartedly too easily.

Well meaning? Only thing they are doing is slowing the rebuilding of the world by harassing people who are actually doing something with technology. War with the NCR is a great example of this.

Old argument, they wouldn't Securitrons, in a word. To go further the power of the Lucky 38 would be of huge interest to them, they want the whole thing, when they see the connection they'll want Vault 21 too. I mean come on the place is a stationary anti-missile platform replete with lasers.

Besides, the BoS don't do subtle, they wade in with their power armour and big scary guns and shoot at the tribals till they run away.
The problem is now, the tribals shoot back. The BoS haven't learned or progressed, they'd try and annihilate Vegas and assuming the securitrons weren't upgraded/activated they may well succeed (even with the full securitron army upgraded it would be messy to say the least). They want the tech, no one else can have it, the strip would fight back (the families may attempt to bargain in fairness, though it would amaze me if it worked), freeside definitely would, they hold no loyalty to House but the Kings see Vegas as theirs, BoS rolling in wouldn't go down well (and they were willing to toe it with NCR, BoS are less than that).

It wasn't just his [censored] on the line, his army would be taken out, so would Vegas, all the technology, all the progress and one of the leading minds wiped out because the BoS can't stomach tribals with tech, the irony of that is apparent...



That said, much as I dislike them and think it was the right move to attack them, I can see why it's a turnoff for some people, the whole pre emptive thing is a little cold, some like to wait till their enemy has shot them before they fight back.

I put it as a con because you can't just kill an entire town just because they're "silly". Also, the brotherhood are possibly the only ones that, i real life, I would like to join. Super Laser weapons, yes!
