I would just like to ask Crytek why we have no better control over graphics settings on PC?

According to the system requirements lab website 'Can you run it' my PC passes with flying colours.
But here's my problem. Running the game on 'high' settings at a resolution of 1080 x 1920, it looks great but im getting between 10 - 30 fps. Running the game on max settings at 1024 x 764 it runs at a constant 60fps, but looks like an old PS1 game. I refuse to run a game at this resoultion, when other games like Dead Space 2 and Bulletstorm look great in HD.

Why have you not given PC user's more control over the graphics options? I've tried some of the config tweaks floating around the net, but none of them seem to work, and yet agai its down to us 2nd class PC user's to sort out this mess, and something that should be 2nd nature to developers. Ive had the game 6 hours now and still not been able to enjoy it.

If it was any other developer I would be returning this for a full refund.

Sort it out please Crytek, remember your roots!
