Why are all the dunmer british?

It sounds really stupid to me (i am even british myself) strangest of all, the captain of the guard has a cockney accent.

Because Bethesda is to cheap to have Jeff Baker do Dunmer male voices for a whole game. At least that's what I think and since beth hasn't said anything on the subject I'll continue to think that. Also no one say it's because they're not around ash of Morrowind, because the female voice has pretty much not changed and a lot of the Dunmer are from Morrowind and/or moved from Morrowind to Skyrim/Solstheim.

I like it.
So they don't all sound like they all smoke 30 packs a day. I'm just happy they aren't all pudgey faced with no necks.

Hiring one guy to do all the Dunmer voices would be the cheap option.

That's pretty much what they did...for the base game anyways

I think fantasy genres typically lend themselves towards more 'neutral' accents, and I can understand why having a cockney geezer turn up might interfere with someone's suspension of disbelief.

Whether or not the suspension of disbelief is a dated concept is probably a separate debate.

Hmm, I think it would be cheaper just to find somebody with like lung cancer and having them do the voice.. Or do people with lung cancer not sound like Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino?

I can't speak for the voices in this DLC since I haven't played it.. But i like the raspy voices of the Dunmer in Morrowind..

Not if he's really good and capable of doing several different voices and accents.

I'll do you one better:

The whole "canon argument" about the presence of ash affecting the voices of dunmer is flawed. If that were the case, why does Neloth in DB sound just like every other british dunmer, instead of the voice of Baker's Neloth in Morrowind, and Baker's Jiub in Dawnguard?

Exactly people just try to use that as the excuse when it's just BS the best voice for the Dunmer is and always will be Jeff Baker. I'm not saying the ones they use are bad but it just doesn't stack up to what we've had. (Though the Oblivion Elf voice can burn in hell).
