Why are music mods in particular so fragile?

Just a general question, because recently I was using the Elder Scrolls Integrated Soundtrack Steam mod in my game. At first, I didn't think it would cause issues, whether using the BOSS load order or manually placing them at the last. But I kept getting CTDs after CTDs after CTDs. Because of my load order, which is way too big, I figured it was just a bad combination of well, everything (Warzones, Skytest, etc.)

But then I found out that just disabling all the ESIS music mods, fixed everything. I used to get CTDs if I died and the last save reloaded, now everything is stable and clean. This is the same solution that I heard before when crashes were happening with either SoS or Improved Combat Sounds (SoS' issue seemed to be more about bloat, and ICS received a fix I think)

So this is in general, why exactly are sound mods so finicky and unstable? I wouldn't think that changing or adding music to the game would cause such a bad destabilizing issue.

I'm currently using Improved Combat Sounds and it seems to work fine. Is it a bigger problem with mods that affect environmental music?
