Ah heres an example why you should read books. i just recently read a book called the wolf queen i think, it improved my speech, it wasn't long but it was highly enjoyable about a woman considered the most evil ruler of all times, queen potema of solitude daughter of pleagius septim II and mother of uriel septim III
i still remember the story lightly, so i went into some cave on a quest in solitude, its called Wolfskujll cave, inside that cave i fought the beforementioned Draugr Scourge and after that hard fight i entered Wolfskull ruins and once in there i see
Spoiler A beautiful magical light, of the conjuration type. surrounding the image of a female body. and in the background i hear necromancers chanting "We summon potema the wolf queen"
Now i know exactly what is going on here, but if i wouldn't have read that book i wouldn't have the slightest clue what is happening in here.. just some
Spoiler Necromancers summoning some random wolf queen
but after reading this short but enjoyable book, its made my gameplay experience a several times deeper just at this moment and i feel highly encouraged to stop this event from ever happening since
Spoiler the wolf queen was no pushover and if she'd revive i would not enjoy fighting her armies of Daedra and Undeads.
I also learned the location of the thieves guild by reading the real barneziah v1-5, this i read in oblivion (but part 5 in skyrim since i bounced on it by chance)
the books are well written. and fun to read.
