I've bought every id software product since Quake2, and even stuff their sister companies have made like soldier of fortune II double helix, RTCW, Quake Wars, Brink. I've bought Morrowind + expansion, Oblivion + expansions. And even pre-ordered skyrim.... but I got burned. Burned hard, on Rage. I've spent many hours trying to get this game to work, and I give up. I know I'm going to get a barrage of responses "hey durf instead of hurf blurfing post all your drivers and everything youve done you probably havent done enough hurf blurf"

NO [censored] YOU SH UT UP I'VE DONE EVERYTHING AND IM DONE. You can only put so much time trying to get a game to work that you've waited for since that Apple convnetion so many years ago when they first showed it off. My beloved id, with a new game! I waited so long... but they havent done enough to fix the problem. I just want a refund. I've put thousands of hours into Quake2 and Quake3, I've always been a rabid id fan but I think that love has died this month. Doom 4? What is that? No thanks.

I really don't want to cancel my skyrim pre-order. but if they don't refund me I will have to, to make up for the money you guys stole from me for RAGE, and then pirate skyrim. Why are they being so stubborn? There's no [censored] fixes on the horizon....

I got burnt hard on Brink, Brink wasnt playable until 3 months after I pre-ordered and owned that game, all because Radeons are trash. By that time, the game was [censored] dead. This is going to repeat with Doom4 and skyrim, I just know it. But it's sad that beth/id put all of the blame on amd, they obviously haven't done enough to fix this problem or prevent it. AMD is trash. ATI is trash. Radeons are trash. Nothing but Intel and Nvidia in my future.

I have RAGE and it runs perfectly on my PC and I have a Radeon card. I have Brink and never had 1 issue with the game, and again, I have a Radeon card. If you cancel your pre-order for Skyrim then that's your decision but I wouldn't brag about it on forum boards. I understand your frustration with the game not working and that you want a fix, I would too, I don't dispute that but I think the issue is on your PC. I hope they find a fix for those who are having issues but to be honest, 1 game that has some issues out of all the great ones they have put out, that's a pretty great ratio. Hang in there man!

I just dropped the $60 for the game today, only to find out about an hour later (because it is a huge install), that my computer cannot run it. I am running it on a laptop but I have been able to play other games with it, including Fallout: New Vegas(technically not the same, OK fine).

I have a Sony Vaio: VPCCW22FX with an Nvidia GT 330M (it's the M for Mobile that is killing me because I cannot get drivers for it)

I have no seen a screen yet other than the blue error screen(not BSOD) which says:
"GL_ARB_draw_elements_base_vertex not found"


I am hopeful that they fix this issue and that I have not just spent $60 for nothing.

Bethesda took to much of a gamble with id, as this was the first time we saw id tech 5 in any game, the engine is so unstable its like a 1 terabyte engine not compressed so you can imagine why its so buggy.
They probably arnt refunding due to the fact that it runs OK on consoles, so they will just say its you computer ( which it may be i have no idea) and they also worried about hackers or pirates as well as losing money.
But bethesda arnt new to these instaltion problems so i dont know what the [censored] they were thinking not testing it better

radeon card has nothing to do with opengl driver support

That's exactly what I was going to say. I have a Radeon mobile and my game runs fine after a couple of updates. I actually found my solution on the steam forums. Would you like some help or did you just want to complain?

Bethesda do not control refunds. Send Steam Support a very polite message explaining that you can't play the game and you would very much like your money back and maybe you'll get a refund.

I have an amd card and a radeon card, my amd processor works fine but my card is trash because It was delivered faulty, and ofcourse no refunds. Anyways I am running low on money to upgrade my card so Tell me your problem, I fixed many rage problems. I can help you fix it just tell me it exactly.

Well mine is Catalyst AI problem , If on then freeze every 3 seconds if off then smooth FPS but messed up textures ( Blocky black square textures that like look like chess)

Welp, Steam finally gave me a refund after going back and forward 11 emails.

Keeping my Skyrim pre-order. It's bethesdas last chance to earn my respect back. I will perhaps give Rage another chance in the future when it's on sale.

Sorry if I seemed really whiney in my post, but this has got to be one of the most frustrating ordeals I've ever had regarding getting a game to work.
