I use to be able to look past it, but after a plethora of games, especially other RPGs such as Dark Souls and Witcher 2, I just can't sit down and play for even 30 minutes straight.
I'm not saying games like Witcher 2, Dishonored etc. had amazing combat, but they were at least felt satisfying. For instance in Skyrim, when I slash a person, blood decals show on their body, but there is absolutely no reaction (other than maybe staggering when I do a power attack).
Unless Bethesda is willing to implement some kind of combat system that gives us creative spells and some kind of locational damage, parrying, dismembering etc. , I don't even think exploration/freedom (which is the main selling point of the series) can save it.
Just wanted to share my thoughts after uninstalling Skyrim again after reinstalling it (too bad the combat ruined an otherwise great game)
