why do dead "blood dragons" keep appearing?

I have been playing Elder Scrolls Skyrim for a few weeks, and lately I have started having a strange problem. At almost every location where I go in or out through a door, I loose my body (but my POV can still float through the scene and pick up items). Also, when I come back outside from being inside, there is almost always a dead "blood dragon" either laying on the ground or just falling out of the sky from an altitude of about 8 feet. Once, in Morthal, a dead dragon appeared, but part of it was inside one of the buildings. It continually thrashed around, as if trying to free itself, but it was otherwise dead. NPCs ignore these dragons, and I can walk right through them. I cannot harvest any scales, bones or other loot from them. The most recent dead blood dragon to appear was half buried in the ground, and it wasn't even fully rendered: It was recognizable as a dragon, but it was made of large flat featureless polygons.
BTW, when I lose my body, if I continue on about my business it will usually catch up with me. It will slide along in a laying-on-your-side position until it catches up to me, and then right itself. Although, once recently (like the dragon mentioned before) my body got caught with one foot inside a door and it just flopped around with a banging noise trying to get loose while I took my POV off to explore. Sometimes saving the game, exiting and restarting will fix the missing body, and sometimes sleeping in a bed will as well.
And I think this is related: Recently I was in a cave, having just entered through a door. I heard a sound like un-popped corn kernals being rapidly dropped onto a running fan. My body was missing (as usual), but when I found the source of the noise with my POV, there was something inside a pile of rock with what looked like maybe a sword and maybe other stuff flailing around at a frenetic pace. The sword and limbs - maybe? - would dart in and out of the rock pile incredibly fast while making this awful noise. Whatever it was, it didn't respond to any weapons or a shout.

1 - What DLC, if any, do you have installed?
2 - Are you using any mods?
3 - In particular, are any of these mods related to dragons, animations, creature models, or camera settings/effects?
4 - Have you modified your Skyrim.ini and Skyrimprefs.ini in My Documents/My Games/Skyrim?
