So why does every child in Skyrim look identical?

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 11:23 pm

Seriously if they are going to include children in the game can they at least make more than two versions and include multiple races, not just white humans? I love the game but seeing the same face on every child gets old really quick. Besides we all wanted to see little Dunmer, Altmer, Bosmer, Orcs, Khajiit, and Argonians I am sure. Hell as far as I know there are no Redguard children. They are all identical and MIGHT be Imperial, Nord, or Breton.

Personally I would rather they be out all together than just having a couple children models, male and female, and they focused on other things like bug testing and balance issues. White humans are not the only ones 'living' in Skyrim nor are they likely the only ones who have resided there for long periods of time.

Any one else feel similar? If enough people do I will request some decent modders I know to make a mod for it. Sorry if you are on consoles. CK does not come out till January anyways so this is more a long term thing.

How about we clean up their personalities first, I dont need more annoying little pricks talking down to me whever I go. Two kids are bad enough as it is right now.

I did say or remove them entirely...

About the kids personalities...I know right? Practically everyone is a stuck up little [censored] who is full of themselves and gives undue attitude to your PC no matter what.

I expected more of BGS but why did they even include them if they are gonna make them this lame and shallow? Oh thats right...a gimmick. There are even children in Skyrim too! Get it...meh.

Oh god, the children in Skyrim are done just awful. They talk and sound like smart ass middle school kids who are bored and have nothing to do. The regular NPCs have good voice acting, what with their accents and all, but the kids sound way too american, as if they're from southern california or something. Kids back then would be working their butts off just like the grown ups. The girls would be fetching buckets of water, sewing, milking cows, plucking chickens, sewing, cooking... the boys would be helping their father with the lumber or hunting or whatever work the father may be doing. Kids, back in medieval days, had to work hard at a very young age. But this is a stylized video game we're playing, so oh well, I guess the kids will be perpetually annoying.

But they do! "I help my mother to sell fresh fruits and vegetables! It's fun most days but hard work!" Repeat x 9001.

I stand corrected. I played the game for the first time yesterday so I only interacted with a few of them and they all said the same thing about playing tag. I should interact with at least 100 before making such claims then. Thanks.

One of the children put a hit out of me and was the name on the letters sending hired thugs after me.

It's really only the one kid though, and I've never seen her actually help. Just... run around, claiming to help.

Agree. The children in this game should be fleshed out more than in vanilla. Here's hoping to see at least Redguard, Breton, Imperial and all elven flavors
of children running around in the towns after the CK comes out. Along with variety added to their clothing. It's bad enough that they all look like clones,
but do they have to look like clones with a mandatory dress code?

I find that more depth and diversity never hurts in an Elder Scrolls game.

Well, almost never, anyway.

Get the right mod, then follow them around, and when they are alone, stage an accident involving steel.

The fact we have children is pretty cool, gives more life to cities and since they are CHILDREN and dont really play a significant part in alot of quests, the fact they look the same is no bother to me

I actually prefer the fact we have children but most of them do seem snobbish, only two of them really stand out personality wise... the wimpy kid in whiterun and the niece of the guy that is executed in solitude the rest all seem to be pretty identical personality wise.

Just remember these kids are the future guards of skyrim, so do them a favor and give them an arrow in the knee!

Based on the physical size and development of the children it also seems that the Nords of Skyrim have only had one successful breeding season in the last ten years or so. There are no teens, infants, or younger children. And no currently pregnant Nord females. Just precocious ten-year-olds whose attitudes make you want to gauntlet-punch them in the back of the head.

I think a backhand with gauntlet would be just as effective, Shonie Carter style.

I would like to see little Orcs running around and some little Khajiit kittens.

Yeah, the media crazies wouldn't run with that one. "Video game or child murder simulator?!? Should it be BANNED?!?"
