I don't find it easy at all. I mean sure some dungeons I have no problem at all, and others I am destroyed. And what in the world is up with big cats and bears, they are super tough! I shouldn't be able to kill any dragon easier than a bear.

I am playing at the default difficulty and it's perfect. Not too hard, not too easy. Every time I hit a level where I unlock a new mob type, I struggle against them until I rank up my skills some more and then I can come back and melt some faces.

I get 2 shotted by those bandit chiefs on Master; one shotted if I get caught in their fatality animation. Took me a while to figure out how to beat them one on one with my low level 2-hand melee character. I so far consider the game challenging enough.

Yeah, I feel like I leveled up wrong. Like I learned too many different skills, and now I dont have any single skill that is powerful enough to kill the tough enemies.

I also find it's weird people have been finding the game so easy.

I'll assume they haven't been caught by a Frost Dragon in the wilderness yet.

As a melee character.

With no ranged attacks.

I don't know about the sabre tooths being tough. I haven't had any trouble with them so far... but Lydia is with me, too, so she helps somewhat.

I'm finding it really easy and I've barely put any perks into combat abilities. Then again I'm only playing on whatever the default difficulty setting is.

It's a perfect simulation of my tactic while running to the nearest populated area and hope they shoot the Dragon down.

Unfortunately, they seemed to prioritize me over the Dragon.

Mostly the people complaining are using exploits, like exponential alchemy buffing, in order to 1-2 shot everything in the game. then call for balancing the game :shakehead:

Giants will one-hit kill you up until you get about 250+ health. On Apprentice difficulty.

Anyone complaining about the game being easy is either a very high level with good gear (which obviously should make the game easier) or is abusing an exploit and only have themselves to blame.

I'm finding it fairly easy at adept. So to answer the OPs question: it's easy because people haven't made it harder by turning the difficulty up.

Another reason is the experience level of the player with the TES series. I've played since Morrowind and while Skyrim certainly changes a number of things about the game, enough has stayed the same that I know what I'm doing. I understand the types of armor and weapons and magic and enchanting and so on.

It also depends on what people are doing. Killing a few bandits is NOT the same as killing three dragons at once, eh?

Mods will eventually make it harder for me: realism mods, I hope. Maybe an FCOM style mod.

And I'm not using exploits, btw. You can clear several dungeons with starting level sneak and maybe couple of archery perks.

Under normal circumstances, for a combat character, expert is really where you want to be, and even that is getting a bit easy for me, even against the hardest enemies, with the exception of magic users. That's the only thing stopping me from going to master; I need enchanting levels to make my character actually resist magic.

Although, if you spent a couple of hours getting smithing up, you've pretty much won the game on expert. 80 smithing will get you EASILY 90 damage on one handed weapons. I figured smithing would be a lot more effort than it is.

Level up smithing and use it to make the best armor you can, then improve it to the max and your weapons as well. Be carefull not to level up skills you will not need in tough situations. Take a good look at the perk trees and choose wisely, some perks can be taken several times. When fighting dragons try to stay near its legs it seems to prevent a lot of damage. Avoid getting surrounded and heal while retreating to a narrow passage to get things under your control. Anything that can stun and interupt your opponents attacks is very usefull. Only use healing potions when in dire need otherwise heal up with spells, the restoration tree has some nice early perks btw.

The easiest way to play any TES game has always been as a sneaky archer. We're talking dirt easy, though. I mix it up with Destruction, stealthy bow shots, and charging in with a dagger.

Dragons i find are really easy, i can kill all of them so far as soon as they land. Fire, Frost, Blood and those named Dragons. The only Dragon thats killed me is the very first random one i encountered.

Ice trolls, bears, giants etc are pretty tough and trying to fight two of them usually means i end up using a fair few potions.

Same.

Playing a 2-handed Warrior Orc with Archery working on Smithing and Alchemy.

Default difficulty (Adept) and find the challenge perfect.

As a Nord, frost dragons are by far the weakest.

Love me that 50% frost damage reduction
