Why no female option?

Okay just finished this game on easy mode...(I start all games that way just to get a feel for it) and I was a bit surprised that there's only men in the Arks. If you're going to re-establish the human race, you're going to need some ladies. Also as a woman gamer I really like to have that option when playing my character. The game was great, the graphics amazing, and I never had so much fun driving (eeek woman driver watch out!). The only other suggestion, map more mouse keys. I play with 15 key mouse and it would be great to be able to map the shift to it so I can drive and shoot all at the same time.

Thanks for a fun and great game! Now hurry up with DLC, pretty please with sugar on top?

As a female, you are a minority gamer. The ratio of female gamers to male gamers is ever increasing but games are still geared toward the majority target audience and most guys don't like to play as a female character. They like to play as a guy and oggle the pretty NPC female characters.

hello, ladies! I love to play mass effect 1,2 as female. it's attractive. I agree with you. main character should be chosen for both male and female as well. but when you go to towns, you see few women (it's not enough). by the way, I like a girl in wellsprings named 'Ginny'. she is my favorite.

See? He likes to ogle Ginny, and if he could he would ogle himself as a woman... kinda creepy huh?

Adding a female player option requires more voice acting for both the player and the npc's that make gender related comments in dialogue. I think they should have done it anyway, but a lot of non-roleplaying games don't bother with it because it's extra work.

It's sad to think that even now...Women gamers are considered a 'minority.' As far as guys wanting to play male characters, I have played several MMOs where a great many male players like to play female avatars, a practice that I find interesting. As a woman gamer I have almost exclusively play female characters if there is an option to do so. Unless of course there isn't an option, for example Forsaken World doesn't offer a female version of the 'Stoneman' so if we want to be tanks as women we have to play Human or Elf Fighters. I do respect the process that Bethesda would have to invest more time and money into this project and supply much more dialogue to encompass gender specific options.

Still, if you want to rebuild the human race...You're going to need some women to do it. Sinking a bunch of arks into the ground and hoping that there's going to be someone to 'interact' with is pretty shortsighted on the whole plan. Or girl bandits even...not a one. Don't tell me that women can't be just as crazed and greedy as men, hell, we're way more devious...

Women gamers aren't a minority by much anymore, but this is certainly not the type of game they typically play.
