Why I keep coming back to Skyrim

Post » Sun Jan 06, 2013 1:36 pm

So I just got done playing some pretty rough games, BF3 and Dust 514, and I was really angry, like super angry. I shut my ps3 down and walked away, got bored came back but still angry so I put skyrim in instead to go kill some civilians but than something happened.

I was in riverwood at the mill overlooking the sleeping town at night, the northern lights dancing across the sky, the blacksmith shop glowing softly from the forge and the smoke being caught in the wind and being blown away. The sound of the water going past, the crickets and than the song kicked in. Kyne's peace. and instantly I calmed down.

Now I have about 110 hours total in skyrim and still I'm always caught off guard by something as simple as this, do you guys still gaze at wonderment of buety in skyrim? a waterfall in the middle of a forest? gildergreen cave?

Not sure if I can do this, but everytime I listen to the Skyrim soundtrack and play skyrim I feel... creative, so I wrote this short story about what I just explained above, here's the link, if it's not aloud sorry... http://www.ign.com/blogs/the_atm/2013/01/05/skyrim-short-story-i-am-home/

I am sure there are better games out there if you ask for people's opinions... because everyone has their own preference.

Skyrim is about the most relaxing and enjoyable game I have ever played. I agree its abolutely beautiful. Looks good on the PS3 but looks awesome on the PC. Sometimes I just like to have my character equip a bow and quiver and just hunt in the Rift. Or when its raining I'll have her seek shelter at Alvor's forge and hammer away on metal as it rains outside. Or maybe go in and sit by the fire if its snowing outside.

A lot was put into this game. All you gotta do is find it.

I go to every location I can on foot, only taking a carriage if I am in a hurry but I have to talk to a place that has one first. There is so much random stuff to see. :)

The sky in Sovngarde is enthralling, i remember just staring at it with tears in my eyes for what felt like an hour the first time i went through the MQ.

Kyne's Peace is a great song. Probably my favorite, followed by Awake, From Past to Present, and Far Horizons.

In fact, I think I'm going to go listen to them right now.
