Why I'm looking forward to TES Online

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 6:10 pm

Hey all, all I can see is negativity so I'm going to do the unthinkable and post something positive!

When I first heard of the game I wasn't sure what to think. I looked up what info there was and looked at the pics we had been "given". I then sat and thought about it. I think its going to be great! We have a completely "new" style TES coming, with all of Tamriel to be seen! Sure it isn't going to be detailed like previous games but it will be new! I'm looking forward to crossing the deserts of Elsweyr, through the forests of Cyrodiil and up into the mountains of Skyrim. I'm also looking forward to the plethora of new lore coming! You have to think with this being set in the second era we will have some kind of new lore! And honestly I like the fact that I can finally play with other people. I can't wait to go do quests with my friends, both from real life and from online. I know its doing alot of things lots of others do but the fact of the matter is that the formula works so why change it? I know alot of people will hate on it but it is what it is. Anyone else excited by this game?

I am, despite all the "its a WoW clone" being thrown around, I think the Guild Wars 2 concepts it has taken in will make the combat fun.

Upset, I have my reservations about this game. Hoping that gameplay will prove it really is that 'special' something to convince me to play an MMO.

im excited for the world, the lore, and the rp potential for a persistent world tes game :)

also, people...there is a multiplayer mod in the works for skyrim...if this doesnt pan out then that might be the way to go :)

It's nice to actually care about the lore of an MMO, for once. Maybe I'll actually read the quest text this time, though regardless of how you word it, killing ten rats is rather boring. :P

the quest structure should be different im sure. but im not 100% on that yet either.
what i read was that there are no quest hubs, and that there are dungeons readily available all over the place and you can just find them and do them like in normal tes. i think it all comes down to how much of the game is a grind, and whether that grind content is actually fun to play. we dont know that yet :/

its taking inspiration from guild wars 2 so im sure they will TRY to make all content more engaging.

Im very excited to be able to explore and adventure in the whole TES world again and online finally, hope it turns out like a good combo of Daoc with GW2 combat and TES world/Lore.

meh it's a wow clone... I am convinced the seperations of race into opposing factions, the game play, style. all says wow clone, however it does seem to have a pretty [censored]en story line.

I Think it will be fun to visit elsweyr.
But well,i am one of those that think TES should always be a singleplayer game guys.
First i got upset,But i dont know... I never liked MMOs,Dont understand why they really put so much time into creating this game.

I really fail to see where the WoW comparisons are coming from... other than some of the game play mechanics.

Definitely excited. I mean, this will be the first chance I get to re-explore Morrowind, during its glory days before Imperial occupation. Not only that, but getting to actually transverse the provinces, should be very interesting. Sure, I expect it wont be quite like doing it in a TES game, but still, I can't wait. Finally, YES the PvP, specifically the Faction VS Faction PvP. I can't wait to see if the conquest system is as fun as it sounds. Doing it in my favorite universe will make it all the more exciting I think.

I'm still on the fence about it. I'm not impressed with what we've been given, but at the same time we don't know enough to decide whether we like it or not. I hope Zenimax delivers.

Also :3 The cities will be more Lore friendly,I mean they must be bigger x) cant have 100000+ players in it if it was small cities like in the main games. Will be cool to see how the cities will be.

Im most excited about being able to explore the whole TES world all at once again ( or most of it ) I have really gotten tired of their single province based games, even their single player TES games need to go back to a full world structure, like arena, back to the roots.

Don't think it'll work out that way. Depending on which game, I expect cities to be as big or smaller than we've seen them before. A city like Vivec, compares pretty nicely with cities you see in most MMOs. You can expect them to have larger areas though.

I am excited. Though I'm on the fence about the payment type. So long as it is reasonable I am fine with it. I really don't like subscription based games but if it's like $10 a month I'll find that reasonable. I hope it's
Simply free to play. I hate that it feels like an obligation to play the game when you have a subscription.
