Remove post if you want, it's irrelevant now that the mod cleaned the thread up.

I enjoy exploring in the game--I find the characters I enjoy most are the ones who are basicly tourists. I have one who is researching religion in Skyrim, visiting temples and shrines (not enough temples in game, but many shrines), I have one who is studying the government in Skyrim--visiting Jarls, finding all the cities and villages, talking to the populace--too bad they don't have more to say--reading books concerning the history of Skyrim. I have another who just takes off on any road and into any cave or dungeon he finds--since he doesn't do quests, he doesn't have to worry about breaking quests.

I love basically the same things about Skyrim as I do with Oblivion and Morrowind.

Exploring an open world.

Well now that I finally play Skyrim (Oblivion, Morrowind) on a P.C, I am just taking it all in. Mods allow you to get imersed in the game so much more than the vanilla version on console. Right now my Bosmer is searching for a Bosmer village he heard about somewhere in the south of Skyrim.

Posts edited and deleted. Come on guys, leave out real life religion please, you know it is not allowed, or you would know if you read the forum rules.

There's an infinite amount of characters you can create, with different reasons to be in Skyrim - from a no-body if you ignore the MQ, to the dragonborn - it really achieves its aim of "You are what you play" and imo that's better than, "You play what you are"

And all set to beautiful music and visuals.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand here.

I love The Elder Scrolls games because Bethesda gives me exactly what I want in a game. A game with a huge realistic world where NPCs actually have their own life and do their day to day business while you do yours whatever you choose it to be. Their games gives us so much choice that you can literally spend thousands of hours across all of your characters you create in the amazing world they create.

Each game they create is always bigger and better than the predecessors because they actually take in a lot of time to create each of their games. They don't release them on a yearly basis such as other games. And that to me is one of the many reasons why Bethesda is by far my favourite game developer of all time.

What's not to love about having your own personal fantasy playground where you, not the CPU, dictate your path?

The best thing about it (for me) is also the worst thing about it: Getting lost inside Skyrim.....making it the biggest time-svcking activity of my life!

Now that the weather's getting nicer in the northern hemisphere I won't be able to find excuses to waste hours and hours and hours inside Skyrim.

I find myself stopping to marvel at the same things as I would in real life; tree roots wrapped around a rock, people in trouble grateful for help, people being a-holes. One difference is that in Skyrim, 99.9% of the time you are rewarded for being nosey and curious and taking the time to look around.

I get happy just hearing that music starting up.

i like it for the diverse dungeons and beautiful landscape and the fact that dwemer ruins and machines are back. i also like the stealth system and i like how hostile npcs in dungeons for the most part arnt robots waiting for you to kill them they seem more real. i also like how most npcs especcially town guards dont ignore what you are doing and your choices. and the voice acting for the most part is top notch except for farengar but they seem to have re done his dialouge. and i like skyrim for its quite memorable important characters and that its hard to find 2 people in a village besides guards that share voices with someone in that village.

I have always love the setting, the big open-world, but what I think really sets the Elder Scrolls apart for me is the attention to detail. The fact that so many of the dungeons have a story, the little things you find when you're just journeying that really pull you into the game and immerse you.
