Nords aren't Vikings?
There are many similarities, but that is a very oversimplified and inaccurate description.

Best to say "inspired" by. Just like Dunmer are inspired by D&D's Drow or Imperials from Romans. It's just as off to say Imperials and Dunmer are exactly like Drow or Romans though. Very off actually. It's superficial at best. Nords are superficially Vikings.

I mean ancient vikings was one of shortest people in ancient Europe their height was about 150-160cm,and in ancient northern regions people always shorthen then others because cold weather and bad terrain doesnt give alot food for growing taller.

The world is full of warm places with short populations, the two have no correlation; warm climate does not ensure abundance of food and cold climate does not prevent it. Furthermore, diet is not the only factor influencing height. Ancient vikings most likely actually had a rather healthy diet and it's imaginable they were considerably healthier and in better physical condition than those they raided (i.e. overworked, underfed Saxon peasants). Vikings were considered large for their time (they wouldn't count as especially big nowdays because the world population has gotten taller generally). Scandinavians however, are still tall even when compared to most other European peoples.

Nords aren't Scandinavians. Tamriel isn't Earth. I don't see why real-life height of vikings should affect TES lore.

Oh yeah, and this of course.

Early medieval Norseman were only slightly shorter than modern averages. Heights varied, and dipped a bit in the later middle ages, but the idea that people were pygmies and that modern people are much taller is mistaken. However, they did suffer more from infections and diseases.

Nords aren't Vikings?
It's a fantasy series, not historical fiction. The Nords are Nords- they're inspired by northmen but not necessarily a one to one. So Bethesda can make them whatever they want to make them.

I thought nords were based off of the old norseman or scandinavian people who were on average taller then most. In fact the danes are still some of the tallest people on average in the world today so I don't know what you're talking about

Because they aren't the real life norse. It's a fantasy word. In this world, the Nords are the second-tallest race. Which I am very glad of. I think they'd look silly short.
