Why do people still ask about how to build characters?

Seriously? If you ask me bethesda completely remodeled the way RPG games play. They took all the pick your stats and basically said..."This is all bullsh*t" and tossed it out the window. They made a game where you can be whatever you wanna be when you wanna be it!

Like how do I stat a battle mage? Why are you asking? No one can say oh you pick these stats as your majors, because that no longer applies! What you do it put on armor, slap a sword in one hand, and cast magic. Adjust perks accordingly as you see fit to perfect it in your imagine.

Assassin/theif? I dunno try being sneaky? If it fails try to find out why? Getting too close cuz you aren't sneaky enough? You should find out hey I can cast spells for longer distance, or better use a bow? Spells aren't silent yet? Use magic until you unlock a perk to make spells silent to all but caster. Not a bow guy? well then just practice sneaking... If none of that works for you? Well clearly you aren't thiefy then pick something new. Oh but you don't want to make a new character? Well guess what! you don't have too. You can change your character on the fly. Just start doing other things. They build as you do them! You are no longer locked into certain classes. For once in a video your character can REALLY learn and GROW as you see fit. It's never locked down.

JUST BE WHO YOU WANT TO BE! This game deserves to go down in history as being a MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH IN GAMING. It throws ideas that I've been waiting for, for literal years to become true.

And yet there are those who complain of dumbing down and streamlining the game.

Some people like to think into it too much. I was hesitant to make any decisions at first, but when I figured out how the system worked I stopped caring and just picked what seemed fun to play yet still fit with my character's background/personality. Which is what RPGs are about.

some people want reinforcement to the identity of their character, which is done in many ways, stats use to be one way but we still have clothing and weaponry to reflect the design they have in mind.

The reason people ask how to build different types of characters is because we don't have the option to re assign our perk/skill points, sadly. So if you get to level 20 or whatever and then decide the perks/skills you have picked might have been the wrong ones to start out with then you're basically screwed out of the 19/74 points you are allowed to have. So having a rough sketch of where to use those points is quite handy.

Then save your perks, if fallout and oblvion, correct me if I am wrong but you could not reset your perks either, could you?
This is not WOW.

I have no clue why you brought up an MMO here but I suppose I can't understand everything people do. Also, if fallout and oblivion what?

20 perks that would be nice to have but aren't needed. Really a character won't be screwed until you get to like level 50+ and say wow this svcks, but why would you go that far in with something that's stupid to you? I mean I'm level like...14(?), and I had all the perks I needed to get through the entire game on expert when I was level 8 or 10. People just need to stop playing this like an RPG and see how godly the new system is and play it like you would do something in real life? LEARN HOW TO BY DOING. If I don't see this way of playing RPG's in the future I will bash my head in with a hammer at all the dumb tards who ruin gaming. Stupid people are my pet peeve, and I get them out of my life with games. They usually stick to cod, but now I'm seeing a lot of them coming to rpg games...

Edit: also you can see every perk form the start of the game anytime. Just read them. No need to ask.

Ah yes, those dumb CoD players with their love of complicated role playing systems. Leave your D20 bullcrap out of Skyrim, you damn FPS kiddies! The future of RPGs may turn out just how you want, but please don't let that stop you from bashing your head.
