Why releasing the new DLC is pointless!

Post » Thu Sep 16, 2010 5:13 pm

Crytek has announced the first DLC to be released on May 17 but sadly, if things will not change, relesing the DLC will be pointless.
We all know that many players can barely play the standard maps thanks to the terrible online-lag, hit-detection, and dozens of other bugs and glitches, so unless Crytek delivers a patch before the DLC we will end up having 4 new maps that we won't enjoy at all!

I agree.

Saw this yesterday somewhere and I really thought it might have a bit of single player in it. No way am i payin for MP maps when I could'nt get one decent game online. With PSN down till god knows when I can see a very empty MP experience when it gets back.

For once can a dev not forget the MP and give people a big old chunk of SP. Really, new mp maps are not goin to fix the core issues of Lag and **** hit detection. Most people have praised the campaign (I love it flaws and all) so why not add to it?

The reason releasing DLC will work is simple.

Activision do it, and it works. Many other devs have did it, and it works. This DLC crap when the game still has obvious problems is bs. But it does what EA want and Crytek too. It gives them money for the sloppy product put out. Granted, the SP is good, the game plays well when it works. But, that’s rarely.

Every COD since COD4, has been the same rinsed formula, and its gotten worse over the years. Now MW3 is coming, next to BF3, we all know which one will sell more. If more people held the wallet back, they wouldn’t be so quick to announce DLC.

Its fine to say you like a game, so you’ll support. That’s great! But don’t then come here, and claim “Why does the game play so poorly?”. If patches actually work, and fix problems. Then they can talk about DLC.

I'm one of those players that rarely have any lag-issues and apart from a minor bug once in a while, the game runs great for me so i'm looking forward to the DLC...
For all of you who have issues with the multiplayer, don't get the DLC (unless it's free, haven't heard anything about what it will cost or if it's free/whatever). If the DLC don't sell as anticipated, then they might turn their eyes on issues some players are having. If people who can't enjoy the multiplayer just keeps getting DLCs then fixing issues will probably be a low-priority thing for them. Kind of basic economics...

*correction* We will be having 4 new maps that we wont buy and play at all. I'm tired of getting screwed by these damn companies. Activision, Guerilla Games, and now ,sadly, crytek/EA. Who in their right mind will pay to keep on further playing a broken game?

And NO!! im not hoping on the Brink bandwagon. That game will have P2P servers on consoles. So, i know exactly what to already expect from that P.O.S. It's going to be one of those games where everyone complain how: "oh man this game can be the bestest ever if they fix the network code or have dedicated servers". FU CK that! Im saving me 60 bucks. Im only buying games that interest me and have dedicated servers from now on. Gears of war 3 cant get here soon enough!!!

He just said the game is good, but the MP is terrible. Which is true. They had betas, and it still turned out this appalling. The thought of it is shocking in itself.

It will be interesting to see how much this sells.
