Are PC elitists really that bad, or do those people simply hate for the sake of hating?
Seriously, I keep seeing comments like "PC gamers have no lives" or "PC gamers live in their mom's basemant".

They're probably just jealous because we're part of the http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/6/61442/2437640-7826621175-Glori.png.
Because they are jealous and most of them are very uninformed. They think you need to update your PC every few months with 600 dollar parts.
Because more often than not we're sanctimonious pricks.
Joke or not, comments like this don't help our image. We're already thought of as a bunch of elitists, and this only serves to reinforce that image.
@op: Not all of us pc gamers think we are part of a master race, some of us think we're no different than anybody else where gaming is concerned. I would venture to guess that the vast majority of us originally were console gamers before we made the switch to pc. Some have forgotten where they came from, others haven't, but please don't come away thinking we all think we're better than the other guy who doesn't, or can't play on pc.
I know. It just seems odd that some people generalize PC gamers to the extreme (as do some PC gamers to console gamers). It's funny because the whole master race thing was meant to satirize the PC elitists' mentality of superiority. Good job Yahtzee, your thing backfired.
And I'm usually quick to say otherwise, but people only wanna listen to themselves.
Oy vey. No one hates PC gamers any more than anyone hates console players. That is some silliness and why people want to have a debate over nothing is beyond me, but these threads get started and they always end up bad.
If you like to game, then get the platform of your choice, or whatever you can afford and have some fun. Stop worrying about what other people are doing or playing on.
Meh.
