Why such negativity on these forums for ESO?

Post » Fri Dec 13, 2013 10:08 am

I seriously wonder if I am one of the only people actually excited for this game and pleased with what I have experienced so far (can't break NDA so can't say more than that sadly).

I for one don't want this game to be anything like WoW or anything remotely like WoW. And if that means that ESO is a niche game with its own close knit community then I'm ok with that. Sometimes I really wonder if people realize what they are saying and complaining about :P

The haters and the arm chair game devs and exaggerating critics are actually the minority. If you look through those threads most are happy and excited. its just the few come in and troll and everyone freaks out.

But yeah despite what a few might have you believe most of us are excited and like what we see and hear so far.

I'm glad to hear it! Sadly I for some reason have a talent for finding the most toxic of threads lol

I agree with what you're saying, unfortunately a lot of people have the mentality of "this game NEEDS to be this way or that way or it will fail", and a few are just narcissists so it's expected :)
But yes, I hope ESO is not like wow at all and creates a nice close knit community, which I think it will.
I am excited and closely anticipating it.

I guess we will just have to wait and see in a few months ;-)
Until then no one can really say whether the game will rock or not.

It's an online forum - the squeaky wheels always make more noise. It's also a given that happy people that like what they see are less likely to feel the need to go on a forum, make an account, and create a thread about it. There's an old adage from my time in retail that a happy customer will tell one person about their experience, while an unhappy customer will tell ten.

Anyway, everyone gets a say on this forum so long as they're abiding by forum rules and they're treating others with mutual respect and courtesy.
