Why TES:V Skyrim is the WORST TES to date!

Post » Sun Jan 13, 2013 9:26 pm

1) Cant disable kill cams

2) No respec before leaving helgen keep (forced to watch execution anytime I make new character)

3) Constant forced 3rd person (horse, werewolf, killcams, using workstations)

4) Poor horseriding, worse than Oblivions. Slow, glitchy sprint sound, awful sprint distance.

5) Bad journal system. No details to information, too reliant on quest markers.

6) Terrible world map, more like a satelite image than a crumpled up map in my back pocket.

7) Unnessesary camera shift when drawing a weapon in 3rd person. Please leave the cam where it is.

8) Immortal NPC's. Much worse than it was in Oblivion.

9) Awful delay when switching between bow/sword in hotkey. Aswell as glitchy draw sound/animation being played twice. A year later without patching this? seriously.

10) Linear dungeons. 90% of dungeons are just straight corridors with no sense of exploration or intimidation. A 2 hour long corridor does not a deep dungeon dive make.

11) Skooma... it could have been a really unique narcotic, but the best they could come up with was a weak stamina potion.

12) No mortar pestle, at the very least let us make basic potions out in the wild. I never carried a glass alymbic for RP reasons, but always had my trusty mortar and pestle.

13) No weapon degredation. Gear maintenence was a whole other dimension one had to consider when going on an adventure.. no reason to take it out.

14) Arrows dissapear after a certain distance. This did not happen in oblivion.

15) No hand to hand skill. And cant block when using the hand to hand you can do.

16) Not 1 single bookshop.

17) No handicaps in the game world. Ie I can walk into windhelm dressed as an imperial, or walk into whiterun as a khajiit. Dont be afraid to penalise players!

18) Blacksmiths cant upgrade gear for you. This is their job, they should be able to improve your gear for a small sum of gold.

19) Rain still passes through shelters. They managed to fix this in the Fallout new vegas expansion set in the canyons.

20) Nirnroots are too loud... in oblivion they were a gentle hum, now I pick them up just to make them sthu.

Yes, in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if all 150 of his posts was this exact list

Also, #16 is a flat out lie.

Someone shut this guy up already (please*)! He keeps spamming this same list over and over. I'm afraid that it's simply now a case of someone who doesn't like the game, and wants everyone else to agree with him. If they don't, then obviously something is wrong with them...

*I said please. I could go pretty please with a few dragon souls on top, and either Ulfric or Tullius (dead or alive, you get to choose), but you never start with the best deal, you always haggle (there are many lessons Monty Python's The Life of Brian teach us).

Aye, here's an identical thread.

All of these put together is an argument to your cause even if they are 'petty' on their own. Judging by the reactions, though, you might be better off posting this to another forum where it has not been debated to death.

17 and 19 are bad ,however, as the other TES games had these problems too.

Ooooh... You have Darth Vader as your avatar at this point in time, and you've missed a grand opportunity. I suggest next time you go with," I find your lack of faith...disturbing." :D

What, no reason other than it was repetitive, boring, added nothing and became a chore? The 'Armourer' skill back then was useless, it was just 'Keeping your junk from breaking'. Y'know, something an adventurer would do or be told to do anyway.
Much prefer having a skill that is both useful and allows me to make my own stuff, thank you very much.

No, something that would make the worst TES ever is some sweeping and glaring flaw like the excessive hand holding, the lack of interesting quests, etc, instead, he posts 'nirnroots are too loud' I mean seriously, that barely detracts from the game, if at all

I honestly think if he didn't like the game, I think he would at least have a discussion with us about the flaws, instead of just making a thread about this whenever.

Out of curiousity, where did you find a bookshop? Urag doesn't count because he's faction-locked.

He seems to have great faith in what he's saying.....that is more disturbing as he is flat out wrong on so many accounts.

He does totally count

Wow, a repeat performance. I don't even think your first one was any better received.
I still find this list needlessly harsh and just full of nitpicks, but still condemened as "Worst in the series", as though that should have an impact on my opinion.

At the moment, I am licking the case to Skyrim, lovingly. Like lovers do.

Even worse, he claims it's what makes skyrim the worst TES to date, but a few of things he mentioned were applicable to previous Elder Scrolls game, I think he doesn't even read his list anymore
