Why that first play through was so special....

Post » Sat Aug 18, 2012 2:40 am

You never knew how much you could explore, how much you could do, and what surprizes laid in wait for you. It was an awe inspiring moment when that first dragon flew over the mountains. This game kept me on the edge of my seat not wanting to stop playing. It kept me wanting to find more treasures in caves, mines, and dungeons searching for new and better weapons and armour. From those rare random encounters to the epic struggles when surrounded by drauger to the enormous battles with dragons. This game filled a void in my mind that not many games can. Not even the glitches and problems in gameplay could stop me from trying to play through.

However, now that I know too much and have discovered just about everything in the game, I feel a little sad and bored with it. Replaying Skyrim just isn't the same as that first play through.

I wish I could go back and relive my first play through over and over again.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Aye. It was kind of emotional to get lost in the woods not having a clue where I was. I was like man, an entire world to explore. This game is going to last me YEARS. Too bad the magic wore off quickly.

The all-newness of the game and so much to discover....... and so much to miss discovering.

LOL, yeah exactly! That's the hardest one to find, but once you know it's there, after a while it's like.....meh.

Once I got out of Helgen the first 5 minutes were special. Then after that it lost that effect

One thing that annoyed me is when I got out of Helgan and walking down the path. I kept getting Todd Howards voice in my head going over the "micro-detail" he kept going on and on and on about in the interviews he did. It was the same speach over and over. I got stuck up there and I couldn't seem to get it out of my head.

Its a game....that is all. And you shouldn't expect positive people in a thread like this. Troll's playground.

I'm simply expressing how my first play through was by far the best and my favorite experience out of every other play through afterwards.

If you grab a hammer and bonk yourself strategically on the head with just the right amount of force, Skyrim will be brand new to you all over again.

LOL! And so will everything else, consequently.

Yeah, nothing you can do with it, those really are ants but the insects I saw on the stone slab were of more beetle looking, nothing on web of the ones I saw --- though there is Hawk-on-a-nest somewhere.

I think all games are like this honestly. Sure you can pop in an old N64 game and enjoy it, but that is mostly nostalgia talking. If you play any game too much it will get boring.

Finally a bird actually using one of those!

yeah, it was defiantly disappointing. I will never let myself get too hyped up for a game ever again.

It was possibly one of the most hyped up games I have ever seen.
