It's simple biology. Every child, real or fictional, starts out sounding like an American, then puberty hits and they get their parents' accent. That's the rule!

I didn't realism EVERY child starts out sound like an American, huh.
So i've been noticing something as of recent.....I speak to some random people ...they all have scandinavian accents..but their kids sound American
WTF BETHESDA...lol talk about inconsistency....
Better question: Why do all the Nord children look identical?
But seriously, did you really want a child voice actor to attempt an accent that can easily slip into the ridiculous? The result you'd get would be American kids doing their best Arnold impression.
Would have been a lot better recruiting scandinavian voice actors throughout. Instead we get a mix of Ahnuld, US accents, a bit of Irish and every kid is American. Some of the female voice actors dont even attempt an accent...just US. At least they could try ffs...
The accents are all over the place. One of the female's "nordic" accent's sounds pretty darn slavic to me. But at least it's not as bad as the voice actor who did the part for the alchemist who thinks that reagents is pronounced "ree-gents".
From what I've heard, the females have a slight Eastern European or Balkanian, but the male Nords is pretty spot-on. I would say it is almost a caricature of a Swedish accent, Richard Prior's Doctor Johannson if you like.
