Why in the world isn't there momentum in 1st person?

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 7:57 am

I'm absolutely shocked by this. In 1st person, the movement feels so unnatural, starting and stopping on a dime. It's pretty disappointing, especially considering that it's completely unnecessary, as evidenced by the 3rd person view, where the movement is perfectly natural. I mean, am I missing something here? Is there a workaround or an option I've overlooked?

i agree completely this is really annoying and really destroys my immersion but so does the FORCED (cause i sure as hell didn't want it) 3rd person kill-cams! what the hell happened to the immersion?!
how am i supposed to be immersed when the momentum is this weird and I'm forced into 3rd person basically all the F***KING Time?!

Yup, the kill cams are the other thing that immediately stood out to me as being horribly immersion-breaking. I don't really understand why they've done that, given the fact that if someone wants to play in 3rd person, they can. So why force it on those of us who want to play in 1st person? That, and the unnatural movement, are my two biggest complaints right now. I mean, it's one thing if you're dealing with some overly-complicated feature that the developers didn't have time to implement. But natural movement is already there in 3rd person, so why not just apply it to 1st person, too? These kinds of unnecessary problems are incredibly frustrating.
