I love it, when I choose to participate in it.
Truth.
Also i don't hate PvP, i hate the e-tough guy aggressive attitude it brings out in certain posters.
Finish?
Sometimes its entertaining, but mostly it gets old. Usually it turns into a revolving afterlife door. The dead are back 30 seconds later to battle over the same pointless patch of ground. No resolution and no purpose makes it feel fairly hollow.
you could consider some of that as an outside the game roleplay of fierce warrior type characters
I like PvP but I started to PvP in an MMO where it was full loot PvP and the PvP in MMO's now days is just not as exciting as that was. UO was edge of your seat heart pounding action that was so much damn fun that games now days make PvP seem like PvE, predictable, and the rinse and repeat syndrome. I just hope the type of war they are designing for ESO is as good as it was back when I played DAoC because that is the only other MMO where I really did enjoy PvP because it felt like you were actually fighting for something other then just to climb the ladder to the next set of gear...
I enjoy large scale world pvp. The way I see it, the more players involved the more balanced the battlefield will be.
What I hate is small scale pvp, especially instanced battlegrounds with out of character objectives like "capture the flag". The fewer players that are involved, the more imbalanced the battle is - differences in gear and class/build balance really begin to stand out with smaller engagements, and are most influential in one on one duels.
Sorry theres no chat bubbles in game I didn't see what you said bro.
I think you just described 4000 years of human history.
Erm....
I love PvP. Its the most challenging part of a game because AI will never be as smart as players. Its the most rewarding part of the game because when you beat someone, you know it was a real person you outwitted and out skilled. It the most adaptable and varied because the content is player driven rather than created by the developers; players will always come up with new ways of doing things and new types of challenges that the developers never imagined.
Am I doing it right?
But in this game, when you take a keep, it remains yours until someone else takes it. Keeps to not reset at the end of campaigns.
That means when you capture a point, it is a permanent accomplishment.
Plus, this is a video game. I play it for fun. I'm under no illusions to think my virtual actions have some profound lasting effect, digital or other wise.
I love shooters as well, like Halo, Battlefield, and Far Cry. I play them online against other players because it gives me a sense of competition. Its like virtual chess but twitch reflexes matter in addition to strategy. I play for fun.
Yeah chat bubbles in this sense are just like little comic clouds above characters heads with the text you type and say in it.
Those guys are annoying.
Anyway, I enjoy pvp occasionally. Having cyrodiil as a dangerous place where other players can kill you will probably even be fun, as long as we can still explore and hang out in places like Leyawiin.
I like PvP when I lose things if I fail in battle, or get to loot some of my enemies items if I kill them.
Indeed. Just don't tell that to the so called RPr's in the chat bubble thread.
What....you guys can't just "ADAPT." Rofl
PvP should be everywhere, that's when it's the absolute best. Too many game companies are catering to casuals and carebears now days who quit cause they can't avoid a gank. I miss real PvP
You know....when a low level guildie was being harassed by a max lvl character, and requested help. So you and a couple other ppl go out to help him. Then the enemy gets more ppl, then you get more ppl, then the enemy gets more ppl again, and it turns into a full blown war out in the middle of a zone you haven't been in in ages which lasts for hours.
Why people don't care that this isn't in MMOs any more is beyond me....
