I've tried this with Lydia and Jordis and each time I married one of them, they always sleep in the basemant on the bedroll. So I never get the lover's comfort bonus. I thought it may have something to do with the fact that they're housecarls, so they still see themselves as servants or something, explaining why they won't sleep upstairs. So then I tried marrying a different woman who wasn't a housecarl, and the same thing happened- she sleeps downstairs. This is happening in the Proudspire Manor house, and yes I did marry everyone properly with the amulet of mara, fixed the Lydia bug with the console to open up the marriage option, and went through the wedding etc.

Has this happened to any of you? Do you think it's possible to disable the bedroll in the console, or some other workaround so that my wife will finally sleep upstairs??

your wife is learning her place and sleeping on a bedroll, what more do you want?

I think you have to remove them as a follower before they will sleep in THE bed.

PS - I am having the same issue with Ysolda in Breezehome though. She just won't sleep anywhere.
