My wife...

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 10:13 am

Hi peeps,

I have a problem. I am pretty sure i married Ysolde with my mage, but when i talk to her, i cant invite her to live in my house. So now i am in doubt.
So i have 2 questions:
1. How do i make sure she is my wife? (just to be sure)
2. How do i make her respond as my wife, cuz this sounds like a bug?

Cheers,

G.

To make sure you're married, talk to her and see if you have other dialogue options like "Has the shop made any money?" or "Would you cook something for me?".
Anyway, you should reload a save before marrying her, maybe even before you proposed to her (aka talked to her with the amulet on).

well if you have married her she should have the "band of matrimony" ring in her inventory, so pickpocket her and if its there then youve married her.

Yeah, as stated, if you're married she's going to have dialogue lines about moving and the store making money - if she doesn't have those lines, she's not your wife. Perhaps you asked her but didn't attend your wedding? Maybe go to Riften and head for the temple of Mara and see if the floating quest text line, "Attend your wedding ceremony" appears. Another way to check is to acquire and wear an amulet of Mara and talk to her. If you're unmarried, you should get the, "Interested in me, are you?" dialogue option. Good luck, and good choice, too - she's a keeper... ; )

Did she take off from the Temple of Mara before you talked to her about where you'd live? That happened to me with Aela one time and had the same problem. We got married, the ceremony was over and then when I turned around I got stuck in a dialoge with Iona, who was congratulating me on the marriage. Aela walked out the door and when I went outside she was gone. And sure enough, the location of a home dialogue wouldn't come up when I finally found her back in Whiterun.

I reloaded to just before the ceremony and made sure to talk to her before she left. That fixed it.

The whole marriage ceremony thing is a bit glitchy. There were a few WTF moments when I couldn't find my bride anymore; I used a few autosaves to check it all out again. The process should be a bit more solid, IMO.

I do wonder why your spouse just walks out of the chapel just seconds after being pronounced your wife. Doesn't seem right to me. Married Hroki, she walked out and I never saw her again. Tough luck.

You need to visit your spouse in his or her house first. This will update the progress and you should be able to talk about moving. The business is set up only after your spouse moves into your home.
