Wilderness-like PvP System?

Post » Mon Aug 12, 2013 1:36 pm

Now don't get me wrong I LOVE the idea of AvAvA in Cyrodil and I will be playing that. The thing about it is that there will be alot of big group fights(I wouldn't call it zerging because they have made it so that you have to be very tactical in your approach.) I myself will role with about 6 or 7 of my friends sneaking into keeps and ganking people in dungeons and towns, as fun as that sounds there is not much risk for reward, sure your equipment will degrade and alliance points will be given but that's not exactly enough. I understand that if you added more risk to Cyrodil everybody would be losing their items and stuff.

Now that I have all that stuff out of the way, I'm pretty sure we all(or alot of us have) played Runescape, you know.. that ridiculously simple MMORPG that used to be so popular until it was destroyed by its own creators. Oh, and I trust you remember the Wilderness(or Wildy as us Runescapers call it). Now if you haven't played it then allow me to explain, the Wilderness was an area where there was hardcoe PvP and some areas were 1v1 only and others were all out Royal Rumbles. It was dog eat dog and you really couldn't trust anybody, also if you died you would lose everything or everything but 3 items if you had not attacked anybody yet. I think Elder Scrolls Online REALLY needs this to attract more hardcoe PK'ers. This game NEEDS FFA PVP

Here are 3 ways how it could be implemented in to the game:

1. A reasonably sized area in the world that is in ruins and looks burned up could host this area of PvP.

2. An instance

3.An instance which is identical to a location somewhere in Tamriel where players could fight.

Now lets get into why this would make the game a lot better,

Well, to start off it would be incredibly fun for everyone, just imagine going into the "Wilderness" for a quest or dungeon as a foreigner to the area and crossing a bridge to be ambushed by a group of Archers who kill you then proceed to loot your corpse as you respawn back to your safe area. Ok...now this may not be your idea of fun but I'm pretty sure those archers would have a lot of fun splitting their share of winnings and this could create great memories. Also, imagine you are travelling with a group of 3 who are inferior to you in skill,to go hunt a rich noob down and as soon you kill that rich bastard you assassinate the guy who took the most damage from the battle and then turn around to take out the other guy making bank in the process.

This would also be great for the economy. It is no secret that a MMORPG needs a healthy economy and this would make certain items worth alot more because players are constantly losing them. Also, it will allow PvPers to be apart of the economy as this doesn't happen to much in most MMO's.

Now how would this work? We've already gone over the location so now lets get into the mechanics! wooo...mechanics....

Okay, first of all the idea of factions basically goes out of the window so your a Khajit and you see another Khajit or maybe a Bosmer that you don't like *swing* *slash* *bang* and loot his rotting corpse. Now some might think this breaks lore but it actually wouldn't because I'm pretty sure ANYWHERE in the world just because somebody is a certain race, faction, nationality etc. doesn't mean you like them. And this is your chance to get those little pests from your faction and decapitate them. Unlike Runescapes Wilderness every area would be multi(multiple people killing each other instead of just 1v1).

Now to conclude, I am going to make a final push to try to convince you people who disagree with me. Here it goes... CMON PLEASE AGGGGREEE!!!!!!!!!! PL0X IF YOU DONT THEN I WILL HATE YOU!!!!!!!...
Okay if that didn't do it then this probably will(maybe?). Okay, well this just adds another level of thrill to the game especially if their is dungeons and rewarding quests here, and the fact that you can loot corpses will attract alot of players who don't like grinding for their gear and instead would just do it the easy way and kill somebody for it. Now I know that last part svcked... but yeah... bye.

Haha your final push got me over the line man, well done :)

I was actually a big fan of how darkfall worked with its full loot system, putty the rest of the game was unfinished...

Anyway I don't think this is ever going to happen in eso to be honest, too many people would get upset.

I'm happy enough there is at least a war on and I can hack and slash my way to fortune in cyrodiil :)
