Will Hearthfire come with a moving truck?

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 10:58 pm

I don't know about you folks, but my highest level character has one crapload of junk stored in her house. If you build something new in Hearthfire, do you think it will include any sort of magical transfer spell, or at least a smelly guy with a carriage to cart all the goods to it? I can't even imagine how many trips this would take, even with a follower.

There is no such thing as "cheating" in a single-player, modded, game.

All my homes are loaded with stuff. Proudspire has all my good stuff and it's going to take several trips to move out. Hearthfire came at a strange time for me because I just spent loads of time decorating Proudspire. Skyrims weird interaction physics makes it even more tough to decorate. I'm going to need to hit up a ruin and round up some more Dwemer dishwear.

You might be able to make the Dwemer items now?

If you're asking me that question, I don't think so. I just use the Dwemer dishwear like plates and cups found in ruins to decorate my house. I change out all the lame cups and goblets with cool Dwarven eatery on the tables.

I guess a person could be selective and just bring the cool stuff you want to display. Another trip for ingredients and soul gems.

Yes there is, but if it's bad or not it's up to the player to decide. Only an ill tempered person would negate that truth.

Get the steed stone and some items enchanted with carry weight enchantments then give all you can to a follower, or pack a few dead thralls full, then pick up all the rest and slowly walk to your horse.
Spoiler
If you've got Dawnguard that part is easier with Arvak.
Then just ride to your new land and unload.

Great idea. I don't have a horse right now but I think it's probably time to finish the quest to get Frost.

Wouldn't that be nice? I have found though that in Oblivion I managed to fill up every house I bought. I'd sometimes move something from one to another because I thought it would work well in the other one but it seems I just fill all the corners of every house I get faster than I can buy a new one. Hoping to be more careful what I keep this time but I do love to collect unusual items for my home.

"Oh look at that fishing pole, I must take that home."
:o "What, "mother's head", I must have that."
:twirl: :WooT, party cloths! Got to keep these."

Really?

1. Put EVERYTHING in your inventory
2. Call a horse/Arvak/whatever
3. either ride to your new house, or get on the horse and you can now fasttravel even while over-encumbered.

Ahaha, I'm the exact same way. Gotta keep all my goodies. I cringe when overencumberance hits and I gotta drop something. It takes a few minutes of weighing my options.

Me too! Sometimes, if I'm only overencumbered by a small amount, I'll drop my sword and then hold down A so I can drag it with me to my next destination. It's quite tedious but it works.

My house is littered with junk. If I got any worse, I'd submit a video of my Skyrim character to Hoarders:Buried Alive. See if they will do a special on him.

I hoard gems, and anything with a precious metal in it. I do it as insurance just in case Beth patches my money glitch.

I won't be moving everything to my Hearthfire home when I build it. I have multiple houses in the towns across Skyrim, and I don't really consider any of them a permanent home. Although, I may consider my Hearthfire home my permanent, but I won't be stocking up on all of my treasures from my houses across Tamriel and move it there. Saves more time to just keep it there. And I don't fast travel so I don't want to have to run all over Skyrim just to put all of my stuff in one place.

I sell most stuff I find, so relocation should be easy for most characters. Except Tiberius, with his 1000 or so ingots and truckload of potion ingredients.

I hope the stewards will have a dialogue option for this. Anyway I don't have that many items to relocate, most of it is junk and can stay where it is.

I have hoarded an insane quantity of junk, and by golly, it shall all be relocated to my new home! Even if I must trudge there slower than an Argonian in a blizzard!
Unless I just hop on a horse and fast-travel there.
