sometimes when you knock an npc to near death they collapse and beg for mercy, or say they surrender.
so far though, whenever i hold back from finishing them off, they just crawl about for a bit before getting back up and attacking me.


what i want to know is, has anyone ever experienced different behaviour to this from a yielding NPC?
(e.g. they get up and run away, or try to parley with you)


also, on a similar note, is there any way to get your hirelings to stop attacking someone who's yielded?
in one instance i had a guard with an acute superiority complex that started attacking me for a poor reason. whilst i was happy to knock them about to teach them a lesson i didn't really feel they ought to die over it. unfortunately when she tried to yield, my hireling showed no mercy

I've seen a bandit crawl about 20ft away from me, get up, take one look back at me and then started running away.

I always just finish them off when they yield, they are just nameless bandits screw them.

Nope, they get up, start attacking me again and die in one hit. *shrug* I would let them live if I could...

Had this happen to me.....but I zapped his [censored].

I felt bad about it, but pretending what you say is true then she would have just attacked me again anyways.
It was odd, I saw two women running around an island in dresses and shawls with shovels, and they seemed irate. I swam to them and they didn't attack me. Their was treasure being buried, and it wasn't showing up as red when I looked at it, no stealing necessary. So I took the treasure. They still didn't attack me, so I walked around looking for what they were yelling at, and after a minute they suddenly rushed me and decided I was their target.

were they already fleeing before they got knocked down?
