I haven't been able to find much on this, but does anyone know if Ranger type players will be able to utilize an attack/tank even perhaps healing type pet? Just curious, thanks everyone.

there are no ranger classes. if you want to play a ranger I would just use a bow and get ranger based skills(I wouldn't know what ranger based skills are considering my only MMO experience is a guardian in LOTRO). Also there are no pets only conjured summons. hope this answers your questions.
Think sorc + daedric summoning skills + a bow. There's your ranger. Its like legos but with skills and classes.
Right now the only summonable creatures in the game are found in: The Daedric Summoning skill line (Sorcerer), Shade (Nightblade skill), and Dunmer Ultimate to summon an Ancestral Guardian. Now, that doesn't mean that there wont' be more ways to have pets that you can control added into the game later. They have said that one of the things they want to add with content patches is new skill lines into the game. So don't be surprised if later on in the games life they add skill lines that dedicated purely to some type of ranger/pet controlling.
Thanks guys. I was kinda thinking you would be able to pull form here, pull from there in terms of skills to ''build'' a ranger type character. I wonder if you will be able to ''tame'' wild animals to fight at your side? I never played Skyrim long enough to see if that was an option.
nope, not going to be an option, and never was in any of the TES games.
if it helps, If you look at the Rangers of 3rd and 3.5 edition D&D, they are sort of like Divine Casters with a Bow and Dual weapons: their magic is classified as divine, they share many of the same spells as a Cleric/Favored Soul, etc. When I make a "ranger" in ESO, I am going to make it a Templar and base it around the Healing tree along side Bows and Dual Swords.
Now, would this include any type of bard(ish) abilities in your build as well? Or do you think this is going to be some different type of skill line?
No, singing and playing harps isn't a skill line.
Are you saying it shouldn't be as in you don't like it or are you saying no, it isn't a skill line as in, that's the dumbest idea i've ever heard...
Music and song have NEVER held any magical properties in TES, the Bard class was a master illusionist in TES 1-4. The illusion spells are split up between several skill lines and even then, there are only a small handful and there is almost no way a Bard build would be viable in ESO from the skills and stuff we know about.
Right because Skyrim didn't have shouts called "http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Kyne%27s_Peace" and "http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Animal_Allegiance" that tamed animals, making them either peaceful or even making them fight for your.
And its not like "http://uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Command_Creature."
So....you never played Morrowind then? The Dwemer had this thing called TONAL Architecture and it was kind of a big deal. The way you beat the boss in that game:
And you've never heard of http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:36_Lessons_of_Vivec,_Sermon_9? She would win battles just by singing.
And its not like Bosmer have some form of http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Of_Jephreto commune with the forest or anything.
I could give other examples if you like.
Actually no, i have never played Morrowind. Let me rephrase it then, it has never been an even uncommon thing among most races and not really the same thing as the way D&D bards used it.
I very much doubt that we will be able to tame pets. I don't think that there's any example in the ES world taming animals via the regular way of taming animals and then using them in combat. All of the examples are, as Nord pointed out, more magical in nature rather than sheer force of will and "breaking" the animal.
However you could go Sorcerer for Daedric minions or Nightblade for a Shade.
