Will we see a more "fantasy" esque setting akin to S

Post » Tue Nov 06, 2012 8:59 pm

I still believe Bethesda has a few more DLC packs in there arsenal left.

While i'm sure dragon born will be quite large, I have a feeling there will be one that goes beyond that and will be priced at 30.00

I'm sort of hoping that in whatever DLC comes after Dragon Born, I'm hoping there will be locations more fantasy eseque like these in shivering isles:

This seems to give some resolution to the main quest. I would not be surprised to see one more DLC that gives some resolution to the second main quest (Civil War). I would be surprised to see anything close to Shivering Isles in terms of craziness because 1. SI is as nuts as any environment is gonna get and 2. Lil'Vvardenfell (Solstheim) is pretty fantasy as it is.

In terms of color pallet I guess. I like the bright more colorful enviorments, and Solsetheim looks to be kind of more harsh in it's color tone.

I prefer the more realistic settings of Cyrodiil and Skyrim myself. I wasn't impressed with Shivering Isles.

tbh i cant see them making anymore dlc after dragonborn unless it outsells expectations which i doubt. dragonborn is probably the last dlc unless they make something else thats small but theres no way they make another $30 dlc like SI, from what ive read its just not very profitable compared to smaller dlcs.

I would like something irrelevant to the main plot lines to be honest, like Dawnguard was. Just some random fantastical adventure somewhere weird, which Shivering Isles kind of was. Dawnguard did it via Soul Cairn and the Vale. I would love Umbriel. That's my most wanted.

I don't see why it should.

How much it sells should be irrevelant. Alot of the new stuff are old in game assets, or new in game assets that couldn't have taken that much time to make. It's probably a small team, so it's not to cost expensive..

Also from past experience, they'll usually announce if something will be the last DLC

Honestly, I don't know whats going on.

Just hitting the quote button automatically quotes something twice, if not more.

I can't edit my post without going to full edit mode

I cant click on the Spoiler button to see what it says.

Full of issues that are bugging me.

I really hope that the civil war theme will be picked up in a subsequent DLC - either fighting for the Empire to drive off the Thalmor, or to properly reclaim Skyrim under Ulfric Stormcloak's faction.

There was a very popular and well-argued thread for the next DLC to be based on Orsinium. I wouldn't mind that either.

Going to War with the Thalmor just sounds so boring. We already fight one war in the vanilla game. I think we should keep it to sword and sorcery questing, and let Game of Thrones handle large scale fantasy battles.

for people who have not played morrowind dragonborn is going to look like shievring isle , and even for us fans i suspect it is going to look exotic

so maybe and maybe not

although i hope there is a bigger one , but nobody is going to buy a DLC for $30 , their is a recession going on ( not in Britain ) but even here nobody is going to buy a game ...well maybe since it will be more like £24 ( strong currency conversion)

I would like an opportunity to visit High Rock or (parts of) Cyrodiil. The geography might pose a challenge, though - both provinces are huge; unless you keep the PC locked up in a city (Morrowind: Tribunal) or on an island (Morrowind: Bloodmoon and, seemingly, the Skyrim: Dragonborn expansion) you will have to stop him from exploring the land beyond that covered by the DLC pack using invisible walls.

There's alot of skyrim fans, and if it's labeled as an expansion pack than I'm sure many will flock to the dlc regardless of the price point.

Besides, Shivering Isles was 30.00 and no one complained. If people get there money's worth, and feel there's enough new value than its all good.

honestly i think that's pretty doubtful. the odds of Fallout 4 coming out before the end of this console cycle are very low, and after the [censored] they went through with Oblivion trying to squeeze it into being a 360 launch title and having to cut the game down a ton once dev kits were finalized i highly doubt Bethesda is willing to go through that a second time, so they've got time to kill.

i can see maybe one or two smaller things like Hearthfire and then a third big one like Dawnguard/Dragonborn before Fallout 4's announced.
