Will the PC Demo ever have servers again?

Post » Sun Apr 04, 2010 1:32 pm

I was wanting to play the PC demo to get a feel for the multiplayer, so I downloaded the demo from Steam. I create a username, and log in. I then decide to try to play a multiplayer match, but there don't appear to be any servers up! I was able to find one that only appeared every ten or so refreshes, but it is constantly full.

I then decide to download the non-Steam version + the 1.2 update after hearing that the Steam version might not be up to date for some stupid reason.

Same deal.

My NAT Type according to the game is Moderate, yet I have added Windows Firewall exceptions, as well as enabled UPnP on my router. I think the NAT: Moderate might have something to do with it, due to the fact that it might not be able to contact the master server, but I can't think of anything else to do.

Any help would be appreciated.

No , the multiplayer demo is over. Sorry.
You should simply buy the game. It is awesome. If you don't believe me just check the reviews - they're not called professinal reviews for nothing.

Believe me, I would buy the game in an instant! If I had any cash, that is. I was mainly looking at the demo to get a feel for the game, to see if I encounter any of the player-reported bugs, and to help tide me over until I can get the full version.

If you actually trust professional reviews then you're a tard. Most of "professional" reviews are bought out, biased, and generally completely untrustworthy.

If you believe that then u are living in a closed little world. Professional reviews are there to guide us about what game to buy. For example they didn't give Metal Gear Solid 4 epic reviews for nothing, and if ur saying that Kojima Productions or Konami paid the reviewers you are an idiot. Also look at Homefront. It had plenty of hype before release and when it came out it got slightly panned. I think THq has more than enough money to pay reviewers to make up false reviews. Saying that 'most' professional reviews are biased, bought out etc. is completely wrong.

I just downloaded the demo from Steam about 1 hour ago (it has taken this long to sort out account sign up issues), and I also can't see any servers online.

Professional reviews are not enough for me to make a purchase decision - who knows what other technical issues the game may have...

Not saying either of you is right, but your comment makes you Naieve ;)

Point of fact remains they need to RESCALE the 1-100 scores, games that do not even deserve to have past 80% are still getting sky high reviews. Weve entered a new decade and the Meter/Counter needs to be reset. Because the new Technology spurt is over atm, and most tech thats being shipped and made for games is currently regurgitated ;) and thus games need to be rated not on -graphic- but on bugs, and (lack of) content
