Will there be More People to Marry? And More Kids?!?

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 6:21 pm

Ok I am an Argonian and I want to marry a Female Argonian. (I think I ruined my chances with the one in Windhelm) This also goes for all those Cats out there too! But the kids. I know it would be weird for an Argonian and Khajiit Children. But if Argonian kids are Eggs then I would still be fine with that! But come on they need more People to marry and more different kids.

There'll be more human kids. I'm not sure about the beast races. Just think of the problems with voice acting.

Argonian and Dunmer are the two races where the lack of children makes the least sense. I think that a competent child voice actor could do an Argonian easy enough. And Dunmer sound pretty much like humans. So whatever the problem is with producing non-human younglings, it probably isn't voices.

There's also voice editing, I suppose.

Still, even for a five-smacker DLC, they could record a handful of new lines. The whole game had over 50,000.

They will have at least one new kid and almost certainly more. What race they will be remains to be seen.

I'm surprised there aren't even elven children, but maybe that's just a time/hardware limitation problem.

I hardly think making yellow-skinned, pointy-eared children would be so taxing on the hardware it couldn't be done.

Most likely it was because time constraints and cutting corners.

I have no idea what it takes to make a game. Thank you for the enlightenment. So time then... that means there's a probability for elven children in the future!

If it doesn't get done now, I've no hope for it in the future.

They would have to make completely new models for them to resemble the elves. Seeing as the elves have quite stark bone structure with thin angular faces and all of the current kid models are quite round-faced

Probably. Though gray-skinned, pointy-eared children should have received priority.

I'm really hoping for Khajiit cubs and marriage options. At this point I don't even care what gender I have to marry, I just want a family of talking cat people!
But, it'll probably just be more human children with strikingly similar facial features and a bad attitude.

More kids in terms of races...I hope so, some day. More marriage options would also be nice (won't affect me though as my 2 main characters are both happily married, but the thought that the game has added more options is always a happy one)

Honestly though, I would rather have child improvement. The fact that all kids look and sound the same in this game is very off-putting. Also I hate, HATE their strong American accents which totally take me out of the game's immersion.

Just think of the start of the game where you are with Ralof and meet Gerdur, everything is great then that damnable son of hers comes along and totally ruins the moment with his accent and badly forced lines.

They may have worked for Fallout 3 which was set in the US but in a nordic based fantasy game it absolutely reeks of crappy voice acting and drags the immersion of the game kicking and screaming through the mud.

Modders managed to get beast feet into the game. The least Bethesda could do is add beast and elf children.

Yeah, they probably have some dumb excuse for not doing elf children like "Well, we didn't do child mer because the way we set up our lore, it really doesn't make sense to do them," or some BS like that. They REALLY don't have an excellent excuse for no beast children, particularly Argonians. And they seem to have conflicting ideas on how Khajiit are birthed in lore, like Kharjo saying he was once a cub, while M'aiq the Liar suggests the idea that Khajiit children do not exist. Though M'aiq loses credibility for having the name "Liar" attached to him.

Also, the lack of orc children is jarring as well, considering they live in their own communities and probably lack the life expectancy of the other elf races. It would be great if they added new child races, as well as more marriage options, but I get the feeling that they just aren't going to bother with any of that. :sadvaultboy:

Maybe more like 10% chance. We'll know in two days.
