One of the things that has always been unique about Elder Scrolls games is the fact that you can have a companion character.

Sometimes several.

Will they still allow that in the online version?

I'm guessing that they won't but it would be something that would set ESO apart from other MMOs that allow you to have non human companions like wolves, bears, etc.

It would be neat to have a character to develop along with your personal avatar.

I'm not sure but I think that Neverwinter may be about to do this.

No, there won't be companions in the game. You can have pets, but you will not have humanoid companions.

I tend to be more of a lone warrior anyway, so I do not care much for it.

Because it's been confirmed there is no radiant so. It seems very unlikely there will be followers.

You can summon creatures to your aid, depending on your class. Whether you get companions like in Neverwinter or SW:tOR I do not know, although I would doubt it.

Pets aren't dependent on class. ZOS has said that anyone will be able to summon creatures to help them. We just don't know what skill tree that will fall under.

I read a review and in that they said there were NPC companions. Each one looked different though not like SWTOR. So for example one player had a human warrior companion and another player had a Kahjit companion.
