will zerg guilds fill a whole channel

Post » Tue Nov 12, 2013 4:59 am

I was reading about these Gaiasock guys, who I never ran into before, and I started wondering about the other megazerg guilds. Will guys like this fill a channel pretty much on their own? And I fully expect guilds like that are going to be Multi-Alliance. So how will the mega server handle this in for Cyrodill campaigns?

And does it really matter? I just don't want to get stuck in channel with some zerg that is basically playing their own version of the gam,e but I can always hop somehow right?

I just hope the Goons pass this one by. And I sure hope zeni-max is prepared for the nasty crap these kinds of guilds can bring. They are nice on paper but man can they ever mess up the economy when 2000 people work together to exploit something or out game the systems.

Considering that the max guild size announced is 500 members, no they will not just fill the campaign.

Since when has this ever inhibited troll guilds?

And yes, they will likely fill the campaign, and on several channels. You grossly underestimate just how many asshats love to terrorize people in MMOs.

AS to the OP, however, there is apparently the ability to change channels. If you've ever played Runescape, it probably will work something akin to that I believe, where you load up a channel list, select a different one, and off you go. I remember this but I have a horrible memory as usual so I'll try to find where, hopefully somebody here recognizes and reminds me.

As such, it's mainly a case of steering clear of the bull's way- although they're not exactly predictable, they tend to try and go where they can cause the most emotional frustration. It gets...somewhat predictable, after a while.

Likely guild size limit (which isn't been set yet) and the fact that you can't be in the same Campaign as guildmates of another faction, will be what keeps it from happening.

Why would it keep it from happening...?

Unless there's absolutely no communication allowed except for with guildies, which is obviously not the case. What's to stop them from making and filling 5 different guilds and then going for a rampage all over Cyrodil? These guilds usually have very complex systems of interaction and planning. They troll like its their job.

What do you mean about not being able to join the same campaign? Yes, you can.

ESO is going to be a tremendous opportunity for the griefers, especially with all the "new to MMO's" TES folks.

You get placed into a Campaign by the system. Changing Campaigns comes at a cost, so maybe eventually they could all meet up some how but then you also have the option to move. Besides by that time its likely that Campaign would be full and not allow anyone to switch to it, assuming but just makes sense that it would. Besides its a big game there will be enough room for everyone, this "issue" will be no more prevalent than any other game IMO. Need to look at channels and campaigns as servers from past game. Could a single guild load a single server in WoW? or Rift or w/e? Nope so its not likely here either. Also like those past games there will be many many channels and campaigns to pick from, so as always can simply ignore and move away from those you don't want to play with.

Also yes its been confirmed for a while now that if you have multiple factions in your guild, meaning you have both Ebonheart and Daggerfall members, those members can never be in the same PvP Campaign. For PvE channels, it doesn't matter anyway because you'll never see enemy faction players outside of Cyrodiil.

"there are alliance population caps per campaign to make sure one alliance doesn’t fill up a campaign entirely."
