Three vampire masters attacked windhelm and I started to worry about losing npc's but before I could draw my sword five town guards were on them. Not to mention the poor old beggar girl. Needless to say the vamps got massacred. I wiped out a healing spell to help everyone out but each character was near full health. Also the beggar seems more smug now that she is walking around with a new sword.
Windhelm is visually unpleasant and half the residents are racist pricks.
only two reasons why i won't buy a house there, the city is so digusting and the residents are pricks.
OT:I doubt any high level will need help consedring i'm level 42 and i pretty much kill them all with one battleaxe swip, and in whiterun the guards get OHKed .
Town is racist in some form but atleast they are letting the Dunmer live behind walls because of the attacks in morrowind from the Argonians. Although the dunmer could do with a bit more love, many of the nords are pretty racist towards em, but i geuss its heart of the stormcloaks so its a given.
This is the only place a vampire attack hasn't lashed out in since I downloaded the DLC. If they are Dunmer vampires I know that Rolff Stone-Fist is the first to join in.
One fun thing to do during a Vampire attack, is to run in the middle of the fight, and start casting Grand Healing. It heals all the citizens and guards up, while the guards take down the Vampires.

Hjerm is a great house for displaying all the unique weapons and armor you collect. I bought it just for that reason. I have never lived there though. Only two houses I like for "living in" are Breezehome and Honeyside. Breezehome is convinient to the smelter, while Riften has a ton of general merchants for unloading my loot. (Make sure to get caught when breaking into Madesi's strong box. You can still get into the TG, but Brand-Shei doesn't go to jail, meaning he is available to sell stuff to.)
