Windows 8 Internet Explorer

Hey guys, I recently got Windows 8 and am loving it so far, however there is one extremely annoying little niggle with it. I downloaded Pale Moon for my internet browser, and I use that just dine, except when I click on links not in the browser (such as in steam and stuff) and on some downloads it doesn't go to Pale Moon it goes to Internet Explorer. I made Pale Moon my default browser. How do I stop IE from doing this?

For modern/metro apps, there's nothing you can do AFAIK. This is by design because Microsoft is stupid and doesn't allow modern and classic applications to communicate fully with each other.

Beyond that, the only thing I could think of is to make sure your filetype/protocol associations are set to pale moon. Open up the control panel and find the default programs option and select the option about associating file types and protocols. Make sure pale moon is associated with http and https.
