Windstad question

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 3:38 am

So, I created a new character. A female character whom I intend to roleplay as a reclusive marsh-dwelling person. I tried to think of a good name for a marsh-dwelling female character and then I realized "Oh! Marsha would be a perfect name!" So I named her Linda.

Anyway, Linda will eventually be moving into Windstad, except the last time I built that house, I had a little trouble with a couple of dead draugr's turning up on my property whenever I fast-traveled there. Now, if I drag the bodies far enough away, will they just keep coming back or does that get rid of them?

I had that problem with a bandit body. I dragged it a bit away and it has stayed gone for some time so I believe so since it has for me.

With my first character I usually resurrect them with something like revenant rush down to the water and jump on the nearest bit of ice so the draugr stomps into the water and then just kill it. Works on dead bandits and dead spiders if they put in an appearance. The ash piles vanished pretty quick in all my games so far. And you cannot notice them in the water anyway. The second character has not had them yet. Even if you get rid of the bodies, they or something else will eventually turn up again. Occasionally there have actually been live bandits attacking there, but usually all you get are dead bodies.

Ash piles in my games tend to stick around for some reason and so I've avoided that particular tactic.

In fact I hate those ash piles so much that I actively avoid necromancers and whenever I run into a vampire attack, I kill the vamps first and save the thralls and hounds for last. So the vamps don't have anything to resurrect during combat.

But maybe I'll give that a try and see what happens.

For ash piles it depends on the area, Braggen has had one in Riften, and one in Winterhold for a very long time, but there have been no problems in my games with the new properties yet. But only Lakeview (Serana's many ashpiles) and Windstad Manor have been tested so far. The game where Serana was a follower started to glitch a bit and she was dumped, maybe she did make too many ash piles.

Got the house a few days a go.
I got the Draugr in the animal pen right after I built the main house part.
I tried to drag them away but gave up shortley after.

Anyhow,I went back later(several days) and the draugr were gone.

One does wish dead people in Skyrim had the decency to stay that way.

It certainly is a good argument for cremation, though, isn't it?
