Wish I could say I was excited about the new expansion but I

Post » Tue Nov 06, 2012 10:46 am

It just looks like more of the same I was hoping that the rumors of the Dragon born dlc would be wrong and it would be something different with a different look and feel like past major expansions Bethesda has done but with this I have to say it doesn't look exciting at all. More dragons, more cold enviroment

I'm guessing you didn't notice all the Dunmer architecture and terraforming? As well as the realm of Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora.

To each their own.

? That looks like more of the same to you? We've never been to Hermaous Mora's realm before and we have no idea what the first dragonborn is like, what unique powers and shouts he may have or what his story is. The only thing that is the same is solstheim, and the land obviously has changed. And we only know about a small small smidgeon of the content it holds. Give it a chance.

Morrowind creatures, Telvanni buildings, Goblins, Lovecraftian monsters.

... yep, same old Skyrim.

I'd be more excited about it if there was seemingly even a small chance that it came to PS3.

I feel ya... I can see that the only highlight is dragon-riding; the rest is just random confusing lore that probably only excites ES veterans (hint: not me), and a couple more weapons, enemies and stuff... MORE snow, same length as DG.

Might drop this for now and get AC3.

Haaaa...I guess for some, they don't care about the content, just so long as it's different...
In my experience, I've learned that Different isn't always good...

...Or is this some complaint from the Tamriel Tourism Front?

I'm plenty excited, it looks a lot different to me. though I'm not particularly excited that it's solsthiem. Never played Bloodmoon so I don't have nostalgia for it. I'd personally rather be going back to Cyrodiil but the storyline itself looks very intriguing to me and I bet there will be good secrets like every other DLC they have made.

Where did it say its the same length as Dawnguard? A whole new island to explore, plus a plane of Oblivion described as an 'endless library' ... I'd say this is far closer to an expansion than Dawnguard.

I was sceptical of dawnguard until i played it. Beth wont give it all away in one trailer, we've seen just enough to perk our interest and start wondering what it could all mean.

Oh, there is more than a small chance. If PS3 DLC were impossible, Bethesda would have figured it out quickly, then contained the crisis by cancelling it right away. Delaying the inevitable would just have made things worse. I'd say chances of PS3 users getting DLC are better than 50%, but no way of knowing how long it will take.

...which honestly seems like the silliest part of it, and I'm not even a lore-nut. The whole "ZOMG RIDE DRAGONZ!11!1!!!1one!" enthusiasm has always confused the heck out of me.

Dude ... there are many new kid players who wanted TO RIDE DRAGONSSSSSSSS and now they can, there are many old elder scrolls fans who are nostalgic about Morrowind, they can feel the part of Morrowind again. I started with Oblivion but player Morrowind, too, and it's my favourite Elder Scrolls game and can't wait to play this expansion! To feel the culture od the Dunmer once more! Even if I never played Morrowind, I'd be excited, because we get more content, more stuff to explore!

Given the DLC is priced the same as Dawnguard, I wonder if we will be able to explore the entirety of Solstheim or if we will be limited to the apocrypha and a few select villages.

Interesting...did you play Morrowind? Because maybe your just sick of the giant mushrooms. I have a feeling that Apocrypha will be a bit different than what we have seen in Skyrim. Just a hunch...

Well the Shivering Isles had mushroom trees and was the best part of Oblivion, Solstheim now has mushroom trees and therefore will be the best part of Skyrim.

I'm about twice as excited about this expansion than I was about Dawnguard.

EDIT: mandatory mention of the fact that Morrowind had mushroom trees and thus is the best TES game.

Is the price tag confirmed? I don't mind paying a little more money for the entire island (if it is as large as people here make it out to be). But if they suddenly put invisible walls in my face without any foretelling what I was getting myself into, then I'll... probably rage!!!! :ermm:
