My wishlist for long term commitment

Post » Thu Jun 20, 2013 1:52 am

Hey

I am going to play ESO 100% sure , and i will love it. It looks Grand.

How long that love will be strong enough to keep playing depends on several features.

* I want collision detection , so we dont have 10 people standing on the same spot. it breaks immersion and its a feature already present in Elder scrolls

(Neverwinter implemented a good inbetween having a small pillar not passable , thus bypassing possible downsides of collision in mmos.)

* meaningfull pvp where you win and lose (stuff) holdings.(only with loss can a win really feel good. I love the hurt in games. Makes the victory, if ever it happens , so much sweeter)

*housing, sandbox features and the likes

there is more but these are my top three at the moment of writing

So far the game looks real good to me , they can postpone the game for as long as they want, and dont mind a sub, or Buy to play at all. As long as they deliver the game in good shape , and as close as possible to Elder scrolls as possible in an online game.

Just my wishlist . Had to write it down at least once to have an inkling of hope of it actually happening for the game.

See you al in Tamriel sooner or later.

Yeah, no. Don't get up your hopes super high, and have them all crash down on you in a whirl of bugs, glitches and the absence of many of the things you wanted. It will be a good game, but it won't be perfect.

I don't see most of that wish list ever happening, housing I am sure will come some time after launch, at least that is one of my hopes, as far as the rest of the stuff, if those wishes are something you need to keep playing the game, I don't think you will be in ESO long, all depends on you and how much you enjoy what they offer, not all games are for every one, and maybe in the end ESO may or may not be your cup of tea, but good luck :)

I could see collision detection in the sense of hay I'm in line you can't cant just run over me sort of way. However if you were looking for weapons to harm fellow people that kind of colision detection is not going to be in an MMO. As for the PvP that is not something your going to know till you actually play the game and for houses I'm pretty sure they are looking into it for after launch... maybe at launch with the 9 month delay I don't see why they couldn't.

Theres already "meaningful PVP". Theres faction buff, if your side is winning, better your buff is, also being an Emperor should be one of the greatest achievements of PVPer. Emperor is truly THE carrot on a stick for PVPer. I actually suggested a while back theres should be more ranks, you fight badly, you lose your rank etc, so better play it right next time. Yeah, theres other players who compete against you at ranks, little encouragement to do better and better. Also theres "alliance ranks" if I remember correctly theres 25 of them, but not sure what they actually give.

Collision detection is an MMO is difficult I think, there's always going to be people who abuse this, for instance what if a group of let's say, not very helpful players, stand in the way of an entrance to somewhere, whether it be a dungeon or building or whatever, and you couldn't get past you would be annoyed right? Maybe collision detection for combat only but I don't know how this would be implemented. Although I have no problem with no collision detection.

I'd love collision detection but I don't believe that we will have it in game because it is too easy for players to abuse this just to grief other players. Sadly this is yet another example of how a few rotten apples can spoil the whole bunch for the rest of us.

With posts like that it's a wonder if he'll bother posting again. Who are you supposed to be?

Welcome to the forums Schmaus, I agree with all of your points. Especially the Housing part.

Agreed, all these things would make the game a lot better.

And let's not got into the CD argument again as it has been A. done to death and B. proven viable as long as the devs think about how it is implemented for more than 2 seconds.

Oh yeah, PS Schmaus, welcome, here's your fishy-stick: http://images.uesp.net/c/c4/Fishystick.jpg

I will keep this tradition alive if it kills me.
