Wolfenstein Easter egg room

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 4:06 pm

On accident I stumbled across a Wolfenstein room. Here is how I found it and where. After I got put in the kill room in ghost hideout I found it. Just after that go kill your first wave of enemies on the second floor. I saw a flat screen tv and to the right is a secret door. I am always pressing x(ps3) interact button so I don't miss any loot. So I was pressing it on the blue Wolfenstein door and it opened. It didn't prompt me to do so it just did it. Inside is a wolf statue thing. Pretty cool for Wolfenstein fans and it's worth 150 bucks. I told my friend about it so he went back to find it and couldn't open the door. I'm thinking you have to do it on first playthrough.

Also after I found it I searched the web and saw people who were finding the doom room. That is located somewhere in gearhead vault. Have not made it that far so not sure where but apparently it's there.

Awesome did not even realize more sections were up. I have it loaded on my iPhone and I have not backed out from the general discussion forums in a while. Thanks totally forgot more categories get added when a game releases. Lol that explains when I posted my ps3 save issue I didn't get any answers and it just vanished, found it now. Thanks again otherwise it would have taken me weeks to realize this.

WARNING:

It is only possible to visit the Wolfenstein Room on your first visit to Ghost Hideout, ie during the first mission.

It is located on the upper floor which you can only get to via the killing room cutscene. So if you come back after going down the zip line it is unfortunately impossible to get to.

I was very annoyed by this. I played the first few missions and after not finding these hidden rooms I decided to purchase the official game guide (very well written with good maps by the way - worth the money). Reading the section on the Wolfenstein room it said you cannot go to it after first mission. As I had already done a lot of stuff after the first mission I did not want to do it again.

As I am playing on PC I am going to try and see if I can use a noclip cheat to get back to the top floor.

I hope id software release a patch or something to let people get back the top floor in case they missed it.

I have the guidebook too. I honestly think the Quake room was put in to make people buy the guidebook. It would have been seriously impossible to do it otherwise with all those really well hidden buttons.

Even wolfesntein room is hard to find without book or a hint. Basically have to mash use on every single bit of wall (just like in wolfenstein lol).

That really bites the big one that if you miss things (which is very easy to do - especially in a first playthrough) you are either locked out of them for good or can no longer get the achievement for finding them! Jeez man, I try to do a first playthrough purposely trying NOT to use a guide or spoiler info to add to the excitement of NOT knowing things in advance . . . . and id decides to penalize us for that! It adds up to a decision like "why play through it a 2nd or 3rd time if I have no incentive through the game to get things I missed the first time?" Why would you?. . . . What were you guys at id thinking? What a lame design idea!!!

Just a note the latest drivers (11.10 preview 2) fixed it. Able to re-enter the garage --no crash!!
