Wolfs (xbox users)

Post » Wed Jan 23, 2013 12:01 am

I recently played the vanilla game at a friends house and the wolfs would howl when you got near them but on the updated version they no longer howl are you experiencing the same thing?

Not to be a grammar nazi but the word your looking for is "wolves" and last time I've checked they still howl in my game.

I know this is a problem on the PC that arises after one installs Dawnguard, but we have the Unofficial patches for things like this. It's absolutely ridiculous that Beth haven't fixed this for console users yet.

I don't see it as being an issue. They don't howl? Ok..

I turn off the compass. So no cheating red dots. I also play with no music. So, no cheating fight songs to tell me in advance. No howling to give away their position. That means my character can get sneak attacked just like they can sneak attack.

I wish combat music would start up for me over wolves, I only get it when fighting extremely difficult enemies like Draugr Overlords or demigods.

It's not a huge issue, but the point is that it shouldn't even be an issue in the first place. If i install a DLC, my wolves no longer howl? Ridiculous.

Someone once made the point that the red dots aren't cheating because they are more or less making up for the fact that your senses are essentially dulled playing your character, as you in real life have a much wider field of vision, would be able to hear more and more precisely, you'd have a sense of smell, and all of the shortcomings that come along with not being in that environment and just managing it with the use of a controller. I tend to agree with this, as most human to computer interfaces are pretty terrible.

You could go even further and say there should probably be a comma after the word "wolves".

Yeah, if you're going to correct someone, you better run your own post trough five different spellchecks :hehe:

Wasn't going for laughs, just pointing out there were multiple errors in his "grammar nazi" post. Dunskap got the punchline.

Okay daddy. *unrolls ducttape*

I have to stop here because the Aldmeri Dominion runs these boards and one Justiciar in particular is sweet on me if I keep straying off topic. So how about that Aldmeri Dominion? Like they say "We're here, and we're watching you!"

Seriously, they are watching.
