i still cannot comprehend what the big deal is about all these trophies / achievements.

in an online competitive game i could see the sense of achievement but in a single player?

Yeah, what I find stupid about achievements is that you have get them for just generally playing the game anyway. Achievements should be about doing things off the quest line. Achievement, complete the first quest, WTF?

Honestly, I think they created them just for bragging rights.

There not really achievements like other games where you really have to work for them... i haven't got the 100% because i didn't did civil war... yet.

BTW the only game i have 100% with is Oblivion

Edit: and i still have the Skeleton Key, so there are some more "achievement" i have to do.

I see trophies just as a way to show which games we really like/are worth it. I plat'ed all RPGs, reached 100% in the single player in many games leaving apart the online trophies (I can't bother to waste dozens of hours in some boring online just for the trophies). Bethesda could be nasty and put a gold trophy for getting to level 81. somehow I wished they did it. It would have pushed me to complete it 100%. After the platinum I lost interest in the old game save and started a new one with a mage.

Quite like the Deus EX HR achievements though http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197978173109/stats/DXHR

Skyrim achievements are pretty boring. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197978173109/stats/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim

I botched Oblivion Walker achievement by

Spoiler
not killing the priest during the Skull of corruption quest.

But I wouldn't get 100% anyway because I haven't participated in DB, TG or Companions on this character. Just doesn't feel right for my guy.

I have all the achievements except "Restore the Thieves Guild to former glory" I also have no intentions of unlocking this trophy as it would require me to listen to Brynjolf, Maven and all the people I can not stand. If there was an achievement for "Destroy the thieves guild completely" I would have unlocked it long ago.

I'm 8 shy of completion. The thieve's guild one's, guardian stones and shouts. I'm on my 5th character - my 6th will be a rogue so I'll do the TG with him.

Devs don't set up difficult achievements these days. In the past they required multiple playthrus with different playstyles, but nowadays you can easily get them in one go. They should change the name to "free candy"

I don't really care about trophies, I just play the game and if I happen to get some then that's cool. But that saying I'm working on 100% on FFXIII and FFXIII-2, just because I love the game so much and want to do everything.
