A word to the moderators.

I see that you locked the "no raid" threads, and in one of them after you locked after 2 pages you said " no need for multiple threads, post in one of the others"...bit difficult when you have locked them.

This is a paramount concern of mine, and i would like to discuss it and see other peoples opinion, they were seemingly locked for no other reason than they reached 200 posts...surely this is an indicator that people wish to discuss it further...there was no flaming or insulting in either thread, maybe a little heated, but that is a good thing, it shows people are passionate.

Moderators, i beg you, please dont follow the GW2 forums where they arbitrarily lock threads they dont like, or infract posters with opinions they disagree with......they are simply the worst MMO forums with the worst, immature and bias moderators i have ever seen.....please dont let the TESO forums go that way.

Forums are for discussions, we dont need to be babysat like children....sure sometimes we need to be told to "pull our heads in"....but to actively dictate what and when we can discuss is horribly wrong, and can only lead to the reputation that Anet has for ridiculous over zealous Nazi style moderating, which i know has personally put people of the game by itself.

Please tell me it isnt going to be that way.

You might face another setback here as well, friend. I believe it's against the forum rules to post anything relating to moderator's actions.

200 seems like a fair mark, in my opinion. Beyond that it's just redundancies and personal jabs.

Im not questioning their actions per se....its more of a plea for restraint and understanding.

Gamers are usually very passionate about their chosen game.....a moderators job should be to understand that and not be over bearing while still being able to maintain an air of civility.....as i said, GW2 failed miserably in that respect and their forums are a joke of locked threads, infracted posters who are to scared to let their opinions be known for fear of retribution.....at least the mods here seem willing to be involved in discussions, which is a good thing.

200 posts is the post limit on a thread.

Only one thread was locked early and that was because at the time there were already 2 other threads on the topic going.

How is that not fair?

Take it from someone who was banned within his first week on these forums (totally my fault btw, not really theirs) the Bethesda mods are actually fantastic and much better than most.

All threads get locked after ~200 posts. It's a relic of forum software that this forum no longer uses, and it's explained in the rules. It has nothing to do with the content of those threads, only their speed.

All 3 threads discussing it were locked...

I see, thanks for the explanation....hopefully new forums will see a change.

Yes all 3 threads were locked, 2 because they reached the post limit and 1 because at the time it was locked there was already 2 other threads open on the same subject.

No offence, but you're really complaining or talking about or whatever a problem that doesn't exist, the mods are perfectly fair and even generally active within discussions.

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/724862-forum-rules-and-general-information/, which explain why we close threads at 200 posts, why we might sometimes consoilidate threads and why we ask you to PM moderators rather than starting threads about moderators.
