Workout tips?

Post » Fri Aug 10, 2012 8:37 am

For a while I been working out and so far I got my upper chest looking good and my legs are strong and hard, but I need to work my body to the limit to achieve a good body.

Right now am doing these types of workout.

Stairs: I go up and down the stairs at rapid pace for 30 minutes.

Weights:15 pounds each and I do 3 sets of 15 for all arm muscles.

Sit ups: I have ball that I use to do sit ups and three sets of 15 as well

Swimming: I do 25 laps in the pool.

So does anyone have any tips for me to improve this workout or add more to it.

Edit: Double topics!? madness!

Well I just lift at the Gym at school, and run when I feel like it. Lol. I am no trainer, but people say that swimming is one of the best things to do to exercise. So keep that up!

I did here someone/some people, say that sit-ups do not help lose stomach fat.

Try doing some push-ups, and if you have a bar of some sort that can hold your weight do Pull ups and Chin ups. Don't even have to leave the house for push-ups.

Edit: Also for stairs, try and put both feet on each step and do it at a rapid pace then move to the next step and put both on there. One foot at a time though. You could also skip a step going up, stretch the legs out. Had to do that for baseball and that wares you out! Would not recommend skipping a step going down.

If you want an athletic look, try the after burn affect

I believe six pack shortcuts on YouTube has a video about it.
It basically boosts your metabolism so it lets you burn calories days after your initial workout.

When you workout your arms, go all out on your last set and go til failure
What i mean by that is when you can't perform the exercise anymore, place your arm in the position of the negative of your exercises
from there work on the negatives till you tire out.
That would be to failure.

Your workouts seem a little short
how long ago did you begin to workout?
how long does it take to complete your workout?
do you like your results so far?

Switch up your swimming with some running once in a while. It keeps things fresh, gives some more variety, and running will help build bone density (something swimming can't really do)

any weight lifting builds bone density

swimming is great for the lungs, calorie burning and muscle building and running is great cardio

so i agree with your advice, but i'd say do both with running first, then swimming to cool down

PM Holy Assassin for some extra sweet info... I would not be surprised if he wasn't a personal trainer or something. Personally, I try to vary my work out as much as possible. I've got 21 different exorcises for hypertrophy. Seven for Legs, seven more for chest/arms and seven more for Back/Abs. But that's just one week. The next week, I do endurance tanning. Again, 21 different types of work outs, all focusing on endurance. Power week? 21 more different work outs. Strength training? ... I think you get the idea.

Do some sprinting. If you don't like doing long distance running, sprints is always a good workout.
