I stopped following the progress of the movie when I heard that it was going to portray the events "in real time" instead of as flashbacks and that the main character was going to be a hero rather than an anolyst after-the-fact. Completely changes the story, IMO. If it turns out to be good I'll take another look at it, but until then I've kind of lost interest.
Edit: Those trailers don't even remotely resemble anything I remember from the book...? Yikes.

This is pretty much how I reacted to it. I stopped caring when it seemed to move to just another shoot-em-up with a single guy saving the world.
Ewww, they made them "fast zombies". And there is no sense of dread either. That's what I liked about many of the stories in the book, as well as other movies like 28 Days Later. I prefer a sense of dread over fire, endless shooting and people shouting.
