Worldspace copy

Post » Mon Jan 28, 2013 12:39 am

For a mod I'm making I will need two separate versions of the same worldspace who are almost identical. So my plan was to create the worldspace, put out textures, mountains and the clutter that will be the same in both versions and then duplicate it. I found that the CK won't let me duplicate worldspaces, I have the option, but when I click it nothing happens.

One other thing that came to mind was the possibility that my mountains and trees wouldn't be duplicated along with my worldspace, I have a vague memory that the CS for Oblivion would do that.

So, how do I duplicate worldspaces and will the static objects in the worldspaces be duplicated with the worldspace?

Thanks ^^

It's broken in the CK. I don't know, but you can give it a go duplicating it in TES5Edit.

No idea how it'll turn out mind.

Hmm, maybe I can achieve this in some other way then... The plan is to have a version of the world that is a couple of years ago, and a current version...
Yeah, it should work with disabling/enabling certain objects and NPCs

Thanks anyway!

You can't duplicate the worldspace.

What you can do, is work on one esp until it's nearly finished. Duplicate the esp. Change one of them into an esm. Load the duplicate esp and change the worldspace name. Quit the CK.. Load the duplicate again and select/add the original as a master.

This way, you'll have the original worldspace on the esm and the duplicate on the esp (with a different name). Now just make the small alterations to the worldspace within the esp.

I think this should work.
