Didn't they say they struck a deal with Microsoft that any DLC for Skyrim would be released on XBox a month before the other platforms?

I don't mind 30 days of bug testing on the weak platform, I have a lot of things to do meanwhile.

this, saves us the frustration of waiting for fixes on serious bugs which will most likely be there

and hopefully the worst of it will be sorted by the time it hits the other platforms

Which hopefully means we'll get an update around the same time you receive it if there are bugs to be fixed. I probably won't get it til late anyway. Still got a bunch of stuff I have yet to experience!

Xbox 360 users will be able to purchase Dawnguard 30 days before PC and PS3 users. The DLC will come to all platforms.
It's also worth noting that Bethesda don't 'love Xbox users more' or 'hate PC and console players' - they simply made a business deal with Microsoft, which results in Xbox being given a timed exclusive.

I like my games (and expansions) on disk, I don't buy digital, so I was going to wait until game of the year anyway.

Do you play on a console? Otherwise there is no non-digital on PC, it's tied to Steam either way.

Dawnguard will be Xbox exclusive for 30 days then it will be available for PC and PS3.
There is already a dawnguard thread where this has been repeated over and over, and the agreement between Micro$oft and Behtesda about letting the Xbox have the DLCs first are news that are from last october or something.

Also I think the mods would prefer it if stuff like this was kept in the dawnguard discussion.

I know, I'm on Pc and not quite happy that I had to use Steam, but I was talking about how I like to buy the games, in retail box. I am a collector, I have lots of them. So I hope they release the dlc in retail, or else I'll have to wait for the goty edition.

30 days is nothing, my only concern is this dlc might be small I want something big like Shivering Isle.

I like how people act shocked when DLC is revealed and is to be timed exclusive even when it was announced the dlc would be 1 month exclusive last year. Microsoft pay money to get dlc early as it must somehow benefit them in the long run, I play on PS3 and happily waited for my fallout and call of duty dlc without feeling the need to buy an xbox360.

Might not seem fair that Xbox users get the new content first, but on the other hand, Xbox users have to pay for Xbox Live service; PC and PS3 users don't have to pay for a separate service. So, wah.

Edit: Although, since this is a single-player game, the free Silver version of Live would be enough just to download stuff.

It's Xbox only for a few months, or something. A deal struck with Microsoft before release.

Considering that Xbox users will never get access to Mods, and always get their patches up to a month after PC players, I don't really see that PC players have much right to moan that they have to wait for a change, TBH.

yet you have money for skyrim and internet? no offense but desperate times call for desperate measures...if you're starving then sell skyrim, your pc and stop paying for internet.

I've struggled to survive before and had to make sacrifices to stay alive...people who cry poor but smoke cigs and other luxuries are ridiculous

Unfortunately, I don't recall ever seeing Bethesda patch their DLC.

So this whole "Xbox users are beta testers" line that us PC and PS3 users say to ourselves to make ourselves feel better doesn't really seem all that likely.
